You know what, danfranndes, maybe you're a little pushy, but I think it's all right to ask for Jasmine to have a background. Aladdin from Agrabah has put a background in every picture, even just starry skies at least.

What I think is disgusting is the way most people have been treating danfrandes. Can't we tell him/her to stop asking so much in a nicer manner? It's true that danfrandes should not ask so much, but a report on how Aladdin from Agrabah's work is going is fine to ask for. True, danfrandes needs to wait longer in between asking, but danfrandes obviously loves Alladin from Agrabah's artwork, and is anxious for his/her own request (sorry danfrandes, I don't know your gender).

So danfrandes, tell Aladdin from Agrabah what kind of background you want, and wait for your picture. Al from Ag, could you maybe post an updated list of requests in order and inform us of your progress? Then danfrandes, and all of us, will have a clear picture of how long we have to wait for requests and we can get excited as each picture is done and we get closer to ours being done.

I hope I didn't offend anyone, but I thought many people (except Al from Ag, actually), were being rather mean to danfrandes.

Aladdin from Agrabah, Pure geinus on your artwork, so vibrant, fresh and fun looking. I scanned thru some of your dazzling artwork and it seems you have a knack of geting each character right. I was curious if you could do 2 artworks for moi please.

Underdog Artwork: featuring Disney Underdogs, Stitch, Dumbo, Tramp, Brer Rabbit and Scat Cat.

Memorable Characters: Featuring Big Bad Wolf, Baloo, Cheshire Cat, Shere Khan and Tigger.

Again I'd appericate if you could get around to these request whenever you can please.

Disney Duster, sometimes "being mean" is really just trying to help someone set realistic goals. AladdinfromAgrabah is doing this all for free. If I was in his shoes, I likely wouldn't have had the patience to deal with it this long and either say, "forget doing the Jasmine picture" and/or, stop taking requests all together, due to impatience and persistance. This is life. Life needs patience. Obviously, danfrandes needs to get some more patience. And understanding. As I said before, its request non-payment art.
I was VERY anxious to see my request. And yet, I sat back and waited, politely...I was impatient, but I was polite. I even wanted to ask when it would be done, but I didn't want to rush/push. Good art comes to those who wait.

I also think it is allright to ask for a background, but if he wants specifics, he should have posted them on his original request or at the very least, post a new request of the specifics he's LIKE to have, but would understand of AladdinfromAgrabah can't/won't do it. Again...its free. Somehow, I think if AladdinfromAgrabah was charging, we wouldn't even be having this conversation. I am grateful I got great art done for free. I usually have to pay $40 for art that good.

Maybe we could be a little less "mean", if dan could show a little more patience. He apologized to everyone, but really, he needs to apologize to AladdinfromAgrabah for being so pushy. I am sure when it is done, it will be beautiful. I put a lot of trust in his hands to make a lot of descions on my art idea and look what a great job he did. Sometimes, you need to let the art flow from the artist's own imagination, rather then chain them down to a strict plan.

Now it's time for me to make an apology. Since no one has responded except Siren, I'm guessing some people were hurt by my comments. You guys were obviously not intending to be mean, you just sounded like it to me. It's true that danfrandes needed to be told to have patience, but it seemed like you guys were yelling or telling him/her to knock it off, when I felt that danfrandes didn't realize what he/she was doing wrong.

Take a look at danfrandes' posts. Notice that they are all one-liners. And who usually writes one-liners, with maybe not the best grammar or capital letters? Young people. So I thought danfrandes was rather young, and didn't understand that what he/she was doing was being impatient like a...kid. Yes, younger people don't have the patience older people do.

Also, I don't think danfrandes got the point everyone was making. I actually think he/she bypassed all of the comments directed at him/her that were rather long, because he/she writes in short sentences and probably doesn't like to read long paragraphs telling him/her off. I also think he/she didn't get what people were saying to him/her because if he/she did, he/she would probably say, "i don't care what you guys say, you can't tell me what to do" or something acknowledging your posts like that. I'm just giving danfrandes the benefit of the doubt that he/she doesn't mean to be pushy and defiant of what you told him/her to do.

I know you guys weren't trying to be mean, but I thought you sounded like it. Maybe you just lost your cool, but sometimes when we type things that chastise people, it can accidently come off as yelling. I'm sorry everyone, that's just how I saw it, like how you saw danfrandes as doing something on purpose I don't think he/she was.

I hope I made amends. I'm not angry at anyone, I just saw one big misunderstanding I thought needed sorting out. I like everyone in this thread!

but im sure you know what i meant when i said "asking him for all these things is like opening your presents before christmas". I am sure danfrandes knows exactly what he/she wants the picture to look like. he/she knows what it should ideally look like, but he/she cant make the art him/herself. so, he/she pushed it off on Al from Ag, and is telling him everything exactly how it should be and not leaving any of it up to al from ag. one of the reasons i bet al from ag loves going this so much is because he can put his own twist on it. if danfrandes keeps making these minor details than al from ag wont have any wiggle room!

i dont think you really offended anyone, disney duster. i think that we are all just annoyed by danfrandes lack of patience and apprectiation.

Our intention wasnt to be mean. Simply to try to make danfrandes understand to be patient with his request and that whenever he was ready for it, Al from Ag would consult him for details on his request. danfrandes continued to ask for things when Al from Ag clearly stated that someone elses request was next on the list, which is when he got people upset because he kept badgering Al and wouldnt give him space to do his work.

And no need to apologize Disney Duster. I know you were just trying to keep the peace!

Hmm... I'm at a loss. I don't know what to think of danfrandes. First I handled things gently, then I lost control when danfrandes requested a blue background as I thought he/she was just taking everyone for a turnip. Then he/she apologized the second time, this time to me, where I thought I was further being treated like a turnip...and now I don't know.

I'm actually quite curious as to what danfrandes' real intentions were. He hasn't replied since! Were those apologies real? When he said he was sorry the first time, I was ready to believe him (see my post previous page) but then...oh well, this is getting more confusing by the second.

And age isn't an excuse for being impatient. Besides, I was not being "mean" to him. I think a few comments from us were harsh, but truthful. And sometimes truth hurts. And the truth is, he does his art for FREE and danfrandes needs to have more patience. I feel he meant no harm, but he needs to understand AladdinfromAgrabah is by NO WAY OBGLIGATED to do ANYTHING. From a certain background to doing a picture in the first place.

IMO, we should hand this topic back over to AladdinfromAgrabah and keep the rest of this pointless argument to PM.

I agree. However, I cannot PM. I am sorry that all of this got started.... I was simply annoyed at his constant badgering and thought that I should tell him. Seems many people felt the same way!
