She will probably mention that The Wind Rises & Monster University didn't compete with it. That Animation in general overall in 2013 was weak. And any other excuse she can think off.thelittleursula wrote:Oh gooosh, I can't wait for Grace's reaction from Beyond The Trailers for this !!![]()

Re: Frozen: Part V
All I can say is finally a big win for Disney. Looking at the 2014 animation lineup there will be stronger competitors like the Lego Movie, The Box Trolls, and How to Train Your Dragon 2. But I do have a feeling that Big Hero 6 will be enjoyable. Frankly I have high hopes for this year in animation from most of the big animation studios. Plus this year will be where Pixar is sitting out until the Good Dinosaur comes out in 2015.

Lego-Feb
Peabody/Sherman-Mar
Rio 2-Apr
Oz Dorthy Returns--May
HttyD2-June
Planes2-July
Boxtrolls-Sept
Book of Life-Oct
BH6 & Home-Nov
The only month with no animated release is August. This a little to much if you ask me.

An animated movie every month is a bit much. But maybe if the bad ones do really bad at the box office, hollywood will see that audience arn't just blindly going into an animated movie. So it could be one of the best things to happen to the Animated genre.DisneyEra wrote: There's basically a new animated film coming out each month including this one:

As for next year... I know this opinion will not be popular... But I really hope HTTYD wins if it's really good.. I think Dreamworks deserves an award for some of their animated movies, especially when they try really hard to make their movies serious and adult-appealing.
Kung Fu Panda 1 and 2, HTTYD, Croods, and Megamind.
Of the listed mentioned, the only movies I can see being good are:
Lego-Feb
HttyD2-June
Boxtrolls-Sept
Book of Life-Oct << Not so sure about this one.
BH6-Nov
So it looks like we're getting 3 Dreamworks movies next year, 2 Disney ones.. Wow.

Whoop whoop!!! So glad it won!!!
But it's a massive shame it didn't win best song...especially as Let It Go will become completely iconic, and I haven't even heard of the winner until tonight.
Thank you for answering RE the incident question too

Re: Frozen: Part V
We should be happy there's a new animated film coming out every month. Or would you rather go back to the '70s when a new animated release was sporadic and the medium was at its lowest point in history?
The fact that there's a new animated film opening every month shows how confident the studios are that the medium is a profitable one, it keeps talented animators employed and there's a potential great animated feature lurking at every corner. I am a huge supporter of this. It shows how alive the medium is right now and almost every studio from Disney to Pixar to DreamWorks to Blue Sky to Sony is doing great work at the moment. This is a year, where three animated films made over $250 million domestically. As animation fans, we should be happy that the medium is in a current golden age.

Re: Frozen: Part V
So they're thinking about making a sequel?
Oh! I know!!
How about a mid-quel where Anna is preparing for Christmas and Elsa hates the holiday because it's all about snow and she has to hide. And Anna goes through all the trouble of planning of big party but then Elsa refuses to hold the party.. A bunch of other things happen.. A near death experience.. And end the movie with a flash forward to Anna and Elsa enjoying christmas together.

Huh? Sequel isn't mentioned anywhere in either of those articles
The Broadway show being confirmed is exciting! I wish they'd confirm an attraction at the parks.

Regarding. The stage adaption, I'll post what I said on another thread.
While I do like the idea and I hope that they work in the deleted songs, like what is being done wit the stage adaption of Aladdin, part of me feels that it's too soon to begin work on a stage adaption. Not that I'm not excited about this prospect but it almost feels like Disney is rushing into this.

Ok...
I really hate how they are praising frozen based on the money it's making, but not on the quality of the movie. Especially when that is what is truly important...

They did, however, import one key Pixar attribute: They put the director, rather than the studio chief or the animation head, in charge of the story. Unlike many studios, Pixar lets the director determine the arc of the narrative. Technology is used in service of the storytelling rather than as its starting point. "It was an executive-driven studio," says Lasseter. "Now it's a filmmaker-driven studio."

Not this again.

This isn't pinning all my irritation on Kristen Bell, this video is just an example, but it it annoys the heck out of me when each new Disney Princess comes along, they automatically rubbish their successors. Newer doesn't always equal better. Disney does this constantly with their female characters and it really ticks me off.
(I just came across this video when searching for Frozen interviews etc; felt compelled to post it here when she does " " with a slight scrunched up face).
I love Anna & Elsa, I think they are brilliant characters to add to the Disney roster, but they aren't better than others that have gone before them. Just different.

You know, Lasseter, it's gone public about the whole thing with Brenda Chapman. You're not fooling anyone.PatrickvD wrote:Oh Boy:Mooky wrote:I'm so out of loop with everything -- has this been posted before?
