Fantasia 2000 isn't quite in the same league as the original, but it has much to offer and like The Rescuers Down Under, the fact it was made by the proper Feature Animation division as opposed to the Disney Toon Studios means it is far from a cheesy DTV like The Lion King 2. (sorry Jens if you're reading, but I just don't like the sequels, and that is my opinion, so no debates!chaychay102royal wrote:I haven't seen Fantasia 2000 either. Is it as good as the original? Or a crummy cheapie like most sequels and continuations produced by Disney?

I feel sorry for Fantasia 2000. Everybody always says it pales in comparison to the original.
It has some of the most amazing animation Disney have EVER done! The Firebird Sequence is stunning! The detail and beauty of the animation is brilliant in particular! I can't really be bothered going into a review of it, but it is certainly superb!
However I can understand the mindset of people who say it does not match the original! I do not think that that is true, I think it's more of a case that the original is such a classic and has matured so greatly that it is unsurpassable. Also I think a lot of people do see it as a sequel, even though there is nothing "Sequelly" about it in the techical sense. It's not as if the hippos or pegasuses return in a sequel segment.
The aniamtion, the music, the segments, the genius of the Film is amazing and I think it deserves a place in every dsiney fans collection.

Me too
I like them both, but I agree that Toy Story 2 is actually better than the first, in my opinion. That has NEVER happened ever in the history of any sequel for me. Thumbs up Toy Story 2.Nala wrote:Toy Story

Well for me I also liked Mulan II better than Mulan and Toy Story 2 better than Toy Story. Other than that I mostly like the original better.

I saw Aladdin and the King of Thieves
Not bad actually. With some decent animation and a better script it could've shown the original a run for its money. Too bad we got another DTV instead...
EDIT: Title corrected!

OMG!!! A terrible thing just happened, I accidently stepped on my Bambi PE DVD and the case along with the actual DVD (but not the bonus features)..... broke.
That'll teach me to throw my movies everywhere on the ground. Actually it was in my Lap-top case and I stepped on that. And the slip cover is all messed up. Dang!!!
