But they're clearly hiding the movie itself, specially Nani actress
For now.
That's my whole point????

That they're hiding the real trailer for as long as they can because they know it will get controversy due to the whitewashing

They *hid* the original movie in the same way, did they not? No one cried fowl then.

Companies love to hide their movies when they can get away with it, and calling back to the og marketing campaign, even if done really poorly, is the perfect excuse for this. The whole goal of any marketing campaign is to keep the word of mouth going, and keep momentum for as long and strong as possible. If they can get people talking by showing less, that's what they're gonna do. Right now it might be working.

They will get controversy when they show the rest of the movie, they know this. But its all part of stringing the public along, as I mentioned. the controversy is still going to get the movie trending.

Stitch looks better in this new teaser. Also, unlike the marketing campaign for the original, these parody teasers seem tied to Disney's current theatrical movie slate which probably means we'll get a Snow White one too when that film gets closer to its release date.

That’s not true at all, dude. Stop acting like Alex Jones.

Well, once again another teaser where little footage is shown. But if these teasers are supposed to be just like the teasers that were released where Stitch invades the Renaissance features, they`re not done in a particularly organic or authentic way.

I agree. I'm not sure non-Disney fans would get that's a play on Simba in the poster. Maybe if the shot was farther back and you could see more of Rafiki/Pride Rock.

I think the only controversy this one will have is the usual how bad the CGI looks that all the remakes get. Not quite the same as the fire the racebends usually set off.

Except Stitch’s CGI doesn’t look bad at all.

The poster looks really bad. Stitch pose is very unnatural. It's funny to see that they are using the same idea than they used when the old movie was released but honestly it doesn't look good. The CGI is not the big problem here. They didn't even used a great perspective for the poster. Some people use to recognize this scene from TLK when they watch the whole Rafiki's silhouette and even a part of the pride rock. Here you can't even see him...
They should've done something like this

I didn`t like the new poster. It was too generic and plain.

All the released posters looks this way. They know how good Stitch sells and they are not putting any effort with this promo.

And from a marketing stand point they're doing great

From a fan point of view nope, but for general audiences perfect

It might have been fun to have seen Stitch photoshopped into classic posters for Disney live action movies that weren’t remakes of animated films— The Parent Trap, Freaky Friday, The Princess Diaries, Herbie Fully Loaded, etc.

This is such an uninspired marketing campaign. If you're copying everything from the 2002 movie, at least do it right. The reason why those four inter-Stitch-ials were memorable and fun it's because it was Disney poking fun at itself, which was previously unheard of. You had this (what initially appeared to be) very un-Disney protagonist wreaking havoc all across the established Disney universe and it caught people's attention. For the live-action advertising campaign to have the same level of impact in 2025, they needed to go bigger. Stitch should have been invading Star Wars and Marvel posters/trailers, not Moana's or The Lion King's (again). Hell, do a Deadpool and Stitch clip and the tickets will sell themselves.

And Stitch's "live-action" design doesn't really work in live-action. He's an obvious CG alien character planted in a realistic environment. In the original movie, Stitch was initially thought to be a weird-looking dog, so incorporating some characteristics of Earth pets into his design should have been a no-brainer. The Sanders-design works splendidly for the 2D world where all the characters are basically constructed of round shapes, so a round fluffy alien isn't that unbelievable.

He doesn't need to invade marvel and star wars ip, they can stick to Disney, but he still needs to, you know, invade Disney ip. Not just barely cameo in a few things.

But what other impactful Disney IPs are there to invade? Frozen, Encanto and maybe Zootopia, all of which are animated films and this is a live-action one. If Stitch invades other live-action remakes, then it’s a straight up copy of the original marketing campaign, plus I don’t think the remakes left any significant mark on the pop-culture unlike the originals. Disney doesn’t have any other culturally relevant live-action output from the last 10-15 years other than MCU and Star Wars. Then again, they had Stitch eat Kakamora from the animated Moana on one of the posters so mixing different studios’ outputs obviously isn’t beneath them and it tells me coherence isn’t of concern to them.

lion king "live action" is animated as well save for a single shot, so its not like that ever really mattered.

But it doesnt have to be "impactful" just their tentpole showcase movies, for better or worse.
