Oy... Thanks to you, I still continue to discover what they do with my initial designs until the final product.
I worked on all of them, but I am so sad to discover how much they changed them...
I am not use of being self-sufficient of my works but I can tell that my works on those Palace pets especially were more cute than the ones figured here... :(
Wish I could show you but not allowed to sadly.

This is not an insult to your work, as I´m sure you were told what to do/create but:

-Jasmine: Really? First they gave her another tiger pet and now a monkey?
-Aurora: Names her pet Macaron? A French sweet confection? That´s a name for a Cinderella or Belle pet. Not her.
-Ariel´s cat (the red one showed before): I still can´t get over the fact that a siren (half human/half fish) would have a cat as a pet.

Actually, the only one that makes sense is the pig for Rapunzel. Cause Rapunzel is not a typical princess and the name used for her goes in hand with Rapunzel´s attitude of exploring and discover.

BTW, Does Disney plans (or already had) explained why regular animals have these colors? Is already hard to believe they´d get pets, Much more the ones chosen for several ones (as explained). And on top of that having them in the colors of the rainbow?

Aurora is supposedly from 1300's France, so Macaron might be okay except macarons weren't invented until the 1500's or, debatedly, the 1700's.

I can't believe you guys have a thread about...this...I won't put down people who like this, but since this is just Disney making up pets to appeal to how little girls love pretty and cute and animal things is just...ugh...

It makes me wish more and more that palace pets were more about the actual animal friends that the Disney Princesses have in their movies.

Hahahaha ... We're debating historical accuracy in a thread about Disney Princess pets. :-)

Who is the owner of Snowpaws?

Some people say its Elsa, but it could be Snow White, too...

It's definitely not Elsa as she hasn't been inducted into the Disney Princess line. I think it's either Snow White or Mulan. Maybe Prince Kido could clarify this for us.

Snowpaws was supposed to be Elsa's 2 years ago, then Frozen became a franchise on its own and Anna & Elsa are not included in the Princesses franchise.
So, later I had to make a retake on this pet and it was decided to switch and update her to Mulan's.
Still funny to see how the Palace Pets I still continue to design turn at the end.
I'm not allowed to share my works sadly but my drawings are much simpler than the finished versions and their colors are most of the time different which it's obvious on those three new pets...

Interesting. Did a similar thing happen with Merida? Was it planned for her to get pets too but because of the clip-art redesign controversy the idea was scrapped?

Also, just to be clear, Birdadette is Tiana's pet and Stripes is Jasmine's pet, right?

Not sure about what happened to the Merida pets ones but I did some in the past.
The zebra is Jasmine's and the bird might be Tiana's though I did it to Charlotte in fact.

Oh wow that's interesting that you made some products for Charlotte. Were there any other guest members you did products for such as Esmeralda for example?

Evidently, Disney is distancing the Palace Pets line from the Disney Princess brand. They're now trying to align the line with the "Whisker Haven Tales" web show. The Palace Pets toys don't include images of the princesses anymore while the Disney Princess logo is nowhere to be found.
