Right, because most people aren't very smart consumers.

I mean, if it's not on TV, most people won't be aware of it. That applies to anything.
Do I sense sarcasm? :P

But really, Amazon is hardly the standard to go by to compare pricing. I don't think it has to do with being a smart consumer or not and you certainly can't account for manufacturer's coupons as the majority doesn't know they're available for DVDs, etc.

Not sarcasm. :P

I mean, some of Disney's "Special Editions" and TV DVDs prove my point.

I fear for the upcoming DVD's of Fantasia/Fantasia 2000. If the Snow White dvd is an indication for a new trend at Disney (put all effort in Blu-ray bonus features and very little in DVD) they may come off very poor indeed.

I wouldn't really hold your breath for anything much more than was out on the original DVD release of either (not that that's BAD, mind you, both had pretty nice discs). I do feel bad that the DVD people are getting the short end of the stick here. Then again, that's Disney for you.

Yes, but I only have a single disc of "Fantasia" with just one bonus feature, and a VHS of "Fantasia 2000". I would be very happy if Disney would release a DVD just as good as the original 2 disc edition. I'm just afraid it will be less good...

"Fantasia" only ever had a one-disc DVD release. Unless you have some sort of bootleg, you have the the only DVD release, barring a three-disc set that came with "Fantasia 2000" and a third disc of supplementary materials.

Other countries only had one short on the disc, they didn't have any of the audio commentaries or the making of documentary. So she might be referring to a different region.

No, overseas there were various configurations released:

The Three Disc Set
Fantasia Single Disc
Fantasia & Fantasia/Fantasia 2000 Bonus
Fantasia 2000 Single Disc
Fantasia 2000 & Fantasia/Fantasia 2000 Bonus

See on Amazon.Fr (Not sure if link will work)

It's noting that every PAL release of Fantasia be it in single, double or triple disc sets contained the shorter non-Roadshow version of the film (and it appears little or no restoration for the DVD release too)
Most of my Blu-ray collection some of my UK discs aren't on their database

Sorry, I'm American. I never think of other countries.

Unless they have something I want to own / consume.

Yes, the link works. Such big prices! Have to look at amazon.co.uk as well.

Hold on Bellegirl, don't go for any PAL release - they're inferior in every sense of the word.

Just saw a TV commercial actually advertising the 2-Disc DVD!
I couldn't believe my eyes!

I just saw it, too. It was like 15-seconds, but there was absolutely no mention of the BD, which surprised me.

Yeah they're spinning that commercial almost non-stop now. I give Disney props as well, they're like "Ooh! New 2-Disc just in time for the holidays! Combo pack also available"

I'm sure they'll make even more money off of it.

Well, hey, even if it's short, good for them! I'm glad they're not completely ignoring this release anyway.
