Are you sure? I've seen plenty of commercials for it (BatB 3D) on TV for the past month or two.Sotiris wrote:TV Spot

Why hasn't there been any marketing or press for the 3D release of Beauty & the Beast as opposed for The Lion King. We're getting so close to the release date but we still haven't seen any ads or press for the movie (new interviews with the filmmakers, the cast and crew etc). Why is that?

There has literally been zilch promo or hype for this at all .... Not even BATB merchandise which is unheard of for Disney, surely ?
I hope this one doesn't flop like the IMAX releases did and puts Disney off the future re-releases. I need to the The Little Mermaid !
Do you think it is because the Blu and 3D Blu has already come out ?

yeah, probably it's because the BD is already out. it's a shame because BatB is much better that TLK in 3D and (for me) better as a movie. did the IMAX release flop??atlanticaunderthesea wrote:There has literally been zilch promo or hype for this at all .... It's not logical. I am surprised BatB actually beat TLK in the box-office. I don't get why they are not promoting it nowadays. and the box-office of the releases definitely does not justify the cancellation of Aladdin (IMAX)..atlanticaunderthesea wrote:Maybe flop is a bit mean, but they did badly enough for Disney to halt All future IMAX releases. I think Aladdin was half way though being done, but was abandoned ?
Domestic gross
The Lion King (IMAX) $15,686,215
Beauty and the Beast (IMAX) $25,487,190
Yeah, a bit late, but it's great as long as you're still getting it, March or not. Hopefully the rest of Europe will follow suite.Lnds500 wrote:In Greece we're getting it on MarchMooky wrote:So, are there any official news on European releases? If we're getting it though, the rest of Europe surely will get it as well.

I really don't care how long we will have to wait in Europe, as long as we get it at all. Disney are releasing The Lion King in Norwegian cinemas next week, so I imagine Beauty and the Beast could be released in the summer or autumn 2012...Mooky wrote:Yeah, a bit late, but it's great as long as you're still getting it, March or not. And I do hope that it does ok, in order for Disney to continue with those re-releases/3D-upgrades!

I've seen it advertised a few times on TV, but nothing like The Lion King release. I think it has to do with the Blu-ray/3D Blu-ray already being out. There isn't anything new coming out to promote the movie. I know Best Buy is advertising the free ticket promo from DMR in next weeks ad. Too bad I've already entered all those codes.
heck, we arent getting it here in new zealand til may/june! and i had to really hunt on google to find that info out. im happy to wait, just glad its coming here at all. i will go see it at least twice. i love BATB, its my favourite. got good memories. we saw in the cinema for my parents anniversary many years ago, one of the few times we went to the pictures as a family.Lnds500 wrote:In Greece we're getting it on MarchMooky wrote:So, are there any official news on European releases? I checked the listings for this Friday's shows and disappointedly, Beauty and the Beast didn't get a 2-D screening. The Lion King was in 2-D for the first showing and then 3-D for the rest of the day. But, it looks like they're only offering Beauty and the Beast in 3-D.
