I absolutely LOVED it - total up to Pixar's quality. Very impressive.
We saw it in 2D, and saw the Partly Cloudy short (which was adorable), but NO teaser trailer for Toy Story 3.
3D gives me a headache, but maybe I'll go see it again in 3D to be able to see the Toy Story trailer.
However, I loved the new trailer for the Princess and the Frog....

I LOVED it. I think for me personally it ranks #2 or #3 in their canon ... I think critically it will always be in the top 5 as well.
I think though some reviews overplayed how sad the film (especially the opening) is -- sure, it tugged my heartstrings and it was deeply moving, but I did not think in no way it was "the most sad 4 minutes ever put on film" as Time magazine said. It was moving and you really did feel for the characters, but I didn't think it was as moving as some of the reviews made me believe it would be. I still though have to admit I was fighting back some tears in some places
Overall, I loved it and can't wait for the DVD release!
So in a nutshell, if you want to see Partly Cloudy go see it in 2D.
If you want to see the Toy Story 3 trailer, go see it in 3D.
If you want to see both, you have to see it twice!!

I saw both in 3D once, but did not get trailer for PatF.
The theatre I went to couldn't figure out how to take the 8.50 off for the movie cash. So they gave me a 3D ticket (10.50) for free.
They played Partly Cloudy and Toy Story 3. No PATF.
Loved the movie. Not the best Pixar film, but certainly not the worst. In the top five for sure. The only thing I hated about it were the villain dogs. I found the really annoying and I think it would have worked better without so many of them.
Apart from that, great film. I really liked the way the 3D was integrated, it wasn't gimmicky at all. Excited for the 2D version on Blu-ray.
I saw the film last night and after a day of reflection this is how I feel.
I loved it, but it's not their best work. I think that some of the reviews made me expect more of the funny parts and more of the sad parts. Overall at times I was underwhelmed. I especially felt that way about the story of Russell's father. I can't figure out whether or not he's around but works alot or if he's dead, did I miss where it said? that overall is the only problem I had. I really liked how Russell and Carl's friendship grew. I feel that although it's yet another "buddy film" by Pixar the progression of their friendship is a lot stronger than any other character friendship since Woody and Buzz. I also absolutely loved Kevin and Dug. By far some of the best sidekicks Pixar has turned out.
A thought on seeing it in 3D, It's wonderful. I have never seen a 3D film done this well. Most of the time I watch 3D films and I can't seem to focus on anything other than the main characters which in a way gives me a headache. With Up this is not the case. As someone said earlier, it's as if the screen is a window into their world. The 3D just comes naturally and it's not as if anything is flying out at your face. If this is the future with animated film I seriously can't wait! Seeing this made me a thousand times more excited for Beauty and the Beast in 3D!
My previews had Toy Story 3, but no PATF (which, might I add, made me very upset!). I also saw Partly cloudy in 3D, which I didn't hate but didn't love.

Oh just fine, guess I was worried for nothing. heh
They should really not have put that child admission thing on the page though next time.
I did have to pay a dollar 50 though to cover the rest of the cost. not that I mind.

oh, no, did I imply that? I didnt mean to if I did. I saw Partly Cloudy in 3d. there's no reason it shouldn't be on all showings of the movie, regardless of the projection method.
I have to say, I was kinda dissapointed in Partly Cloudy. don't get me wrong, the cute/evil babies they made were hilarious at times, it had good comedic timing, but next o Presto and many other Pixar's past shorts it compare for me.

Yeah thats what I thought as well...I mean most of the shorts usually that are not based of the characters of the Main film have a wrap up....You Don't see Presto 2: another trick up the hat....or like Boundin 2: Cheer Up a fish out of water by teaching them to rap or breakdance.....I Felt like there really wasn't a solid ending in Partly Cloudy.....as compared to Presto or Boundin.....unless we haven't seen the last of the Clouds that are Partly creative with Storks
Oh Also....Kyle posted this in the Toy Story 3 thread but I will post it again...Its the full official trailer shown during the 3D showing of UP.....its just not a 3D obviously online but is great for those not wanting to or can't attend Up In 3D soon or they like simple 2D
Saw it yesterday afternoon and while I didn't have the best viewing experience (New Rule: No seeing animated movies when anyone under the age of 5 might be awake) the movie was absolutely amazing. The dogs grew tiresome, but other than that, no complaints here.
I saw it today in Disney Digital 3-D, and I got to see "Partly Cloudy" and the "Toy Story 3" trailer in 3-D. No "The Princess and the Frog", however, but that's okay.
On to the movie: I nearly cried. I knew what was going to happen in the beginning, but it was still so sad. Even the funny scenes following after were sad, in a way. But when the house lifted up, so did the movie.
I love all the characters. Is it just me, or does Carl resemble Spencer Tracy in his later years? Ed Asner was great playing him, and I loved Chris Plummer doing the Dog-Master, Explorer villain. Russell was sweet, and Kevin and Dugg were funny.
I enjoyed this more than Wall-E, and I think it bumps that one from second place- Actually, Up might just tie with Monsters, INC. on my favorite Pixar movies list.
Also, I was pleased with the 3-D this time. It's kind-of understated in Up, I think, unlike Bolt, so I didn't have any problems. Or maybe I'm just getting used to the technique.
So, I just watched Up for the second time last night and I've got to say, I think I love it even more so than I did the first time, which I didn't think was possible.
I'm definitely seeing this at least two more times in theaters, probably once more in 2D and another time in 3D.
As the guy who sat behind me during the midnight showing of Up said, "God bless Pixar."
Also, has anyone else NOT seen The Princess and the Frog trailer before the 2D showing? I'm quite disappointed that I've seen Up in both 2D and 3D with no sign of the trailer yet.
