Could anyone help me to identify what sex the person in that video is?

I'm honestly not sure!

Its obvious that Britney's career will never be what it once was. Even if her "comeback" on the VMAs was amazing, it would still have been hard for her to get back to her late 90s/early 2000s career. Despite who's fault it is, what has happened in her life lately has severely hurt her career.

I don't buy the whole Sara Silverman thing. So what if Silverman said some things about Britney and her children at the VMAs. She is a comedian, and would have said something about anyone to get a laugh. Instead of feeding Silverman, if Britney was serious she should have came out and gave the performance of her life. Instead she showed up looking way to "partied out".

I also don't buy the whole pressure on her life thing. Other celebrities are constantly pursued by the paparazzi and they don't go around doing stuff like Britney either. She needs to get her life back together. If that means going into exile away from the paparazzi and fame, then do it. Wait until everything is worked out and then plan a comeback if she wants to. I'm sure that her fans would respect her more for waiting awhile and doing a good comeback, to what we witnessed last night.

People are talking about Britney, but they have been talking for awhile now and none of it is good. If anything all the bad press she has gotten is only going to hurt her career more. She needs to realize that she is a mother, and could still have an amazing career if she wanted to provided that things change...

You know I wonder how long it will be before we see a similar video, in defense of Cinderella?

Warning all her critics to back off!

It's ironic that in a country where alcohol cannot be purchased by those under twenty-one, a seventeen year old goodie-two-shoes can seem as though she's been at the vodka-and-coke due to her karaoke singing. She even sounds like Bonnie Tyler when she sings "when I lose my mind"! rotfl

Even before I clicked on the link, I knew that you had to be referring to her Howie Mandel Show performance...I watched it when it first aired, and I had it taped, and my friend and I would watch it...I'm a Britney fan, but we would laugh.

While I do think Britney has had some good live performances, that was dreadful! 1:07 was absolutely hilarious! I replayed that part over and over again and laughed myself to tears each time! Thanks for posting.

Britney has gone on record saying that she was disappointed both with her and the performance herself and she has reportedly been offered another chance to perform it on Extra, of which I hope she does.

That's good...I hope she does it, too. But, let's say that her VMA performance had been at a concert, which people had paid to go to. The fans at that concert would have been disappointed...would she have been able to go back to that city and reperform that one song? I think that she should have stepped it up the first time- even if she does an AMAZING job on "Extra", if she choose to go on and perform, I think that many people will still be disappointed in her. First impressions, you know.

I'm still a fan, though, and I'd like to see her do a great job performing again.

James wrote:The fact that she even went out before the performance the night before annoys me and that after it she went out without panties on (again!) makes me angry. She needs to go out of the country, the business and the whole soul sucking music industry and just have time to regroup and spend time with her children. The fact that there is so much pressure on her to perform well, the fact that she has media scrutiny on her all the time and the fact that she has to deal with a custody battle must play with her head, as it would anyone else's, so we can't really blame her too much, as it's only natural that she'd want to forget about it all, and party.

I don't really see why. Your first post seems to be spot on. THEY are ruining her. Laz was 110% right. Coming back - even if she triumphs 100% is only feeding the media circus. And any new success now is only going to put pressue on her for the future.

She's best just walking away.

The Competition: Britney Spears
I hope Britney is ok. I will pray for the light to shine in her life. You all should do the same!

Update: So many of you have written to me asking me to help Britney. I have gone out of my way to help her. I sent her many Kabbalah books. I offered to send my trainer to help her get into shape for her performance. I suggested a chef who could prepare macrobiotic meals to help with weight loss. I also suggested a good pilates instructor. I also gave her performance suggestions. I had this idea that she could come out wearing a wig and then take it off during the performance like I did in the "Open Your Heart" video. She rejected all my advice. Everyone must be responsible for their own actions. If you aren't willing to help yourself, there is nothing that anyone can do for you. Let's just all continue to pray for her healing and light. I just want you to know that I did try to help her. This is all so eerily similar to the time I tried to help my friend MJ. History often repeats.

I always enjoy reading Madonna's blog. It's interesting to see how celebrities comment on each other. But I like Madonna's wig suggestion and now it's clear why some people have this kind of careers while some others just don't last as long.

She is also apparently in talks to appear on the Emmys next week, to apologize for her performance, as reported by US weekly.

I would have thought if Madonna really wanted to help Britney, her advice would be "take the time off to fully recover" rather than performance and fitness tips. :x

It sounds like everyone was badgering Britney about this performance all the time. So she's probably already been on the media/pressure treadmill for weeks. The same treadmill that broke her. Do you see the irony?

And now she has to go on air to prove she "still has it" and "apologise" for being a human being? Just to satisfy a hungry, unfeeling media who does nothing but take a knife, stab it into her back and keep twisting and twisting and twisting it, always increasing the hurt and pain she feels?(while they laugh all the way to the bank)

I'm no psychologist, but surely anyone with half a brain cell could see this was - and still is - going to end in an super-disaster. If people aren't careful, I can see another "Owen Wilson type" situation being reported weeks or months from now. :(

If that happens, I'm sure the media will claim they always loved Britney, and everything they said or did, or made her do, was just for her own benefit - not theirs.

And yes - to go back to an earlier post I made - I do like Britney. I don't know her personally, but I don't have to. It's not like I'm declaring undying love to her or anything. If I knew her, I probably wouldn't like her. Who knows? But following your logic Laz, nobody would like any celebrity.

And regardless of her upbringing, inteligence or even parenting skills - she doesn't deserve all this. She doesn't deserve it, and her family doesn't deserve it.

Here's an interesting article from Ninemsn News-
'Crazed' Britney sedated before MTV awards

The fallout from Britney Spears’ performance at the MTV Music Awards is becoming more bizarre with reports the starlet popped anti-depressants before the show.

Celebrity blogger Perez Hilton said Spears took the drugs minutes before her uninspiring performance after a fight with her hair stylist.

Britney was unhappy with her chosen hairstyle and went into a “blind panic” before her comeback.

“Britney took enough to floor an elephant. They calmed her down, but clearly were too effective,” a source told British tabloid The Sun.

Prescription drugs were given to the pop star by a doctor at the Palms Casino resort.

“She knew she hadn’t rehearsed enough and was going to mess up the whole show and possibly her career - then she saw her hairdo and it was the final straw.”

The Sun said Britney went into a wild rage and started lashing out at everyone, including her stylist.

“The scene in the dressing room before the show was one of absolute blind panic.”

Britney’s comeback at the music awards was much hyped, but the starlet drew criticism for her lacklustre performance.

First of all, Madonna does not actually write that blog. It's some fan that has more time on his/her hands than they know what to do with. I don't understand why people think Madonna actually writes that blog. It's so fake!

Second, even if Madonna, or anyone else, were to suggest that Britney take time off, there is no reason to believe that Britney would even take that advice. She's a grown woman, who has to make her own choices. She isn't some puppet, who has no choice in the matter. From all accounts, people have tried to help Britney. Her family tried to help her by getting her therapy. She has rejected their help, and, instead, chosen to make a fool of herself. She has rejected the advice of people involved in her career, and fired them for trying to help. She views anyone trying to help her be better, as them trying to stop her from doing what she wants to do, and living her life the way she desires. There is nobody to blame for Britney's downfall, but herself!

I am so tired of people trying to put the blame of her behaviour on somebody else. It's the same ignorant mentality that people have in regards to their own actions. Nobody wants to take responsibility for their own actions anymore. They want to place the blame on everyone else. Isaiah Washington was fired because he was black, not because he said terrible things about his castmates, and was impossible to work with. The boy down the street killed another little boy with a gun, because he played a videogame, not because his parents never taught him right from wrong. 13 year old Allison had sex with 15 year old Adam, because the song she listened to on the radio had sexual overtones, not because the 15 year old boy pressured her, or because her parents never spoke to her about sex.

I hadn't heard about this. I'm afraid to ask, but, what was the joke?

Edit: Nevermind. I just found the clip of Sarah Silverman at the VMA's on YouTube. I would say the joke about Britney writhing around on stage with a python, then implying that Madonna was the python, was about the only funny joke she told. Her delivery was decent on that one.

However, Sarah Silverman is as bad as I have heard everyone say she is. That was terrible. She's not very funny, at all. Anyway, I'd rather be the fan of a python, than a buffoon. :D

Sarah Silverman had mentioned that "even Madonna cleaned up"...I didn't think it was much of a joke, but she was just saying how Madonna had been more provocative and then calmed that down a bit, I guess.

I still don't like Sarah Silverman.

OK Madonna Point taken.

Normally I would agree with you. But I do think Britney (along with a lot of celebrities) is a special case. She does not know "normal" life. She has never experienced it. Everything she does may indeed be her choice. I wouldn't be surprised if she just feels like a "nothing" when she's not the centre of attention all the time, and she feels only be performing again will be become happier.

But regardless of her views - this is different. Videogames don't continuously pester, insult or promise money to people. Songs with sexual overtones don't insult and belittle a person by name and broadcast their humilation to millions upon millions of people.
