The Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring (Extended Edition)

It was quite interesting how the movie was made. The bonus features were on 2 discs and over 5 hours of features.

Oh awsome! I loved when the Stepsisters and the Dream(ettes) were having the singing battle thing inbetween takes. Oh! And the microphone cord wrapping around Anika's foot made me crack up.

Are we allowed to discuss special features in this topic, or just say what we watched. It seems like we would be able to discuss, them but just making sure.

Well... since I started the Topic... Sure, you can discuss them. Usually this topic ends up on the 2nd page in a few hours anyway because all we do is List and that gets boring for some people.

OMG yes!! These parts sure were absolutely hilarious, and I absolutely loved how they spend some time on the original broadway show.
And Jennifer Hudson looked gorgeous in her interviews!
What had me cracking up as well was Eddie Murphy singing "I am telling, I'm not going." This man is genius, and should have gotten the Oscar.
I didn't like Beyoncés remark about how, when recording the score, she had to pull back her voice. I just don't believe her. Yes, she has an amazing voice, but before Dreamgirls I found her singing to be only mediocre, so "Listen" really surprised me. I asked myself why she never showed in her former hits how much voice she has, and then she goes to complain about having to pull back during recording sessions.
I actually liked Anika Noni Rose best in all of the interviews, she and Jennifer Hudson seem like so nice and down-to-earth people, you just gotta love them. Beyoncé seems nice too, but to me she sometimes is to "glamorous" too much of a star.
But all in all "Building the dream" is one of the greatest making-of documentaries I've ever seen.

From last night:

The Ten Commandments: 50th Anniversary Edition
-Part Two Audio Commentary: Katherine Orrison (only about 45 minutes or so before I decided to turn it off)
-6-Part "Documentary" (37 minutes, ugh too short for me!)
--Moses
--The Chosen People
--Land of the Pharaohs
--The Paramount Lot
--The Score
--Mr. DeMille
-Newsreel: The Ten Commandments Premiere in New York (2 minutes)
-1956 Making of Trailer (10 minutes)
-1966 Re-Release Trailer (1 minute)
-1989 Re-Release Trailer (2 minutes)

Even though I often criticize the blandness and quick-cut-and-paste-ness of the documentary, I still enjoy watching it, if only for a visual bit of making-of material. Still love the commentary. Wasn't in the mood for watching Part One, so I just stuck with Part Two.

The Secret of NIMH: Family Fun Edition
-Secrets Behind the Secret (15 minutes)
-Who's Footprint Set-Top Game

Quickly watched the Secrets featurette and checked out one of the five games. Watching the movie tonight (for like, the first time in 14 years!) and will watch it with the audio commentary tomorrow.

Somewhat. In the "interactive" Hollywood Location Lot, three short snippets are found in the Paramount Pictures section:
--Paramount Pictures (1:19)
--Bronson Gate (0:28 )
--Dreier Building (0:28 )

They're not long enough to be considered real featurettes, and pretty much offer location footage from the film (along with stock footage from 2002) and quick narration with general trivia about how it relates to the film.

The "Paramount Lot" featurette for Ten Commandments is a 7-minute featurette about shooting the film at Paramount.

Watched the following bonus features last night and today...

Star Trek: Insurrection - Special Collector's Edition
It Takes a Village (17 minutes)
Location, Location, Location (20 minutes)
The Art of Insurrection (15 minutes)
Anatomy of a Stunt (6 minutes)
The Story (17 minutes)

Didn't watch the movie, but felt like checking out the bonus features. I intended on watching all the featurettes, but got bored with them after "The Story", so I decided to watch The History Boys...

The History Boys
History Boys Around the World: Tour Diaries (14 minutes)
Pass It On: The History Boys on Screen (13 minutes)
Chapter 10: Longing
Chapter 16: Poetry
Chapter 20: Practice Interviews

After watching the movie once through, did the two featurettes (they should've been longer...), then decided to watch a few of my favorite chapters, which is why they're listed.

Kingdom of Heaven (Theatrical Version)
Interactive Production Grid (83 minutes)

Wasn't really paying attention to it, it was more background noise while I was typing stuff rather than watching it. Still, I'd look up every so often to see what was going on.
