Who knows? You might actually like Lilo's new voice if you watch the movie. :)

You're probably right. Although I have heard Dekota Fanning scream a few times already... (Yeah, I went to War of the Worlds  )

No, it's not <i>Toy Story</i>, but Aaron has put together another fine review on Miramax's drama Dear Frankie:

(Oh, and thanks for the compliment on <i>Lilo & Stitch 2</i>.)

Thanks, Luke, and good job on the Disney Princesses Sing-Along Songs: Volume 2 review ( http://www.ultimatedisney.com/princess-sing-along2.html ). I'd normally never consider actually buying one of these releases, but the karaoke feature has me thinking about it, just to be able to rip the instrumental cuts of the songs from the DVD, which I would love to have. I adore my instrumental Disney song collection, but it's entirely too small.

I loved the Lilo & Stitch 2 review, but I found an error. Oh, and it's about the slipcover, so you know it's good.
UD's Review wrote:and held within a cardboard slipcover which merely duplicates the front and back cover artwork.
I got my copy today, and the slipcover doesn't duplicate the back coverart for mine. When I took the slipcover off, the image on the back cover was different from the back of the slipcover. On the slipcover, it has three little images from the movie with subtitles beside them, but on the actual movie case, it has a big picture of everyone standing around Stitch while he's freaking out, along with technical specifications for the movie.

Not a major error to point out, but I thought it would be a good way to <strike>increase my post count</strike> start discussion.

Whoops, you're right Pasta, and in fact I remember looking at those back images (on the slipcover) and thinking they were unusual. That will have to be updated.

Thanks for the compliment, Aaron. Volume One has the same feature and with more (and more popular) songs. Of course you might want to order that one online or bring a young girl with you to the store or else you'll get looks.... ;)

 I'm pretty sure the regular employees at my local Best Buy already think I'm a total weirdo. :P

How do the karaoke versions sound? Sometimes karaoke tracks can sound sort of hollow or echo-y. Is that the case here?

I have the bad habit of singing along to karaoke music and not paying attention to what it sounds like, but I didn't notice it sounding as bad as a typical karaoke track (that sound that my mother might describe as being "tinny"). It really just sound like the voices have been cut out. The only thing that annoys me is the fact that dialogue is left in. Definitely not appropriate for performing. :p

I must echo Renata's comments on the Karaoke (no pun intended!).

As for forum readers who turn to this thread for the latest reviews, there are two more dandy critiques now available for your pleasure and knowledge, each of which will depress in one way or another:

I just read Renata's review and it was rather amusing to read, especially with the captions on the screencaps!

Fantastic review! Answered every single question I had about this release and how it compares to past release... and then some. Thanks for delivering, Luke!

It's clear that both the new SE and the UTB have their strong points over the other, while both being grade-A releases. Ideally, I'd have both sets to get all of the features, but as someone who missed out on Toy Story the first go-round (except for being ripped off of $40 for what turned out to be a bootleg of the single-disc on eBay), what's missing isn't worth the UTB price tag alone. I will be more than content with the content. ;)

And now, I'm off to buy Toy Story! :D (FINALLY)

Excellent review, Luke, one of the best I've read in a while. I liked how you wrote what was in the Toy Box that was kept put of this set; that was one thing I was looking for. I wish they hadn't taken out some of the voice-talent specific stuff though.

It's a minor question, but does the slipcover have a shiny effect like most other PIXAR DVDs?

The answer is no. Although, the 10th in 10th Anniversary Edition is a shiny blue, and slightly raised above the rest of the cover. Nothing spectacular, like other Pixar "shiny" covers.
