As for frozen's soundtrack. Is it me or is it not fair to compare it to lion king and anything pre-iTunes?

I mean, if people haven't been able to buy let it go they'd have to buy the entire soundtrack.
What do you guys think?

This is an excellent point. Had iTunes existed twenty years ago, I have a feeling that the soundtrack for The Lion King would have sold just as much as Frozen, just because of accessibility.

Probably! I can remember hearing Elton John's version of "Can You Feel the Love Tonight?" getting so much airplay on a mainstream radio station, plus the video aired quite a bit on VH1 (back when they regularly aired videos). And often heard people calling in to request it. And "Circle of Life" got some airtime as well. This was back when people would buy the cassette version. Not sure if that is the case with either version of "Let It Go" these days, as I have yet to hear it on the radio.

I see that alot of people are now upset at all the success Frozen has been doing. They're upset because they think that Frozen is upstaging the Renaissance. This clearly is not true. Nothing will ever top the Renaissance era ever. WDAS finally has they're big-time CGI animated hit. And after over a decade of Toy Story/Shrek & Ice Age, it's great to see a mordern Disney Animated Feature be at the top again. Nothing like this has happened in 20 years! Plus it unlikely we will ever see this again, atleast in the short term. BH6 is clearly not gonna have the same success as Frozen. Once the Character designs of BH6 are revealed & people see the multi-ethnic cast, complants & controversy is gonna run ramped. Also, this June when Dreamworks drops HttyD2, that could possibly break some boxoffice records. And in 2015, everyone will be back on the Pixar bandwagon when The Inside Out & The Good Dinosaur comes out. This is Disney Animation moment to shine. I hope Frozen continues it amazing run. This is one of the biggest films in CGI animation history & it's from Walt Disney Animation Studios:)

I just saw Frozen this week, and I'm wondering if I'm the only one who didn't love it. It wasn't terrible, and I was looking forward to seeing a Disney animated musical, but the music fell short for me. I was mostly disappointed because I found the lyrics to be generally very basic. It's like the lyrics just stated the obvious instead of allowing us to learn more about what the characters were thinking and feeling in a way that dialogue alone couldn't do. The only song I really liked for it's cleverness was Olaf's song, but that was kind of a throwaway number not crucial to the story. I also found something about the general tone of the story and characters to be difficult to warm up to. There was always something off-putting about the film, and I can't put my fingers on it, but I just found myself trying to like it too much.

It was missing the warmth and likability factor even though all the pieces were there. I'm not sure if Frozen is overworked or underworked, but it felt like an uncompleted draft without all it's flaws worked out compared to Disney's high standards.

You weren't the only one. I liked it, but it was so flawed. And this won't do me any favours around here, but I thought the same about the lyrics of one song: "Let It Go". They're too basic. One of the most beautiful scenes and the poorest song in the film, in my opinion. The other songs were fine.

I like Frozen but I don't think it's the "OMG GREATEST THING EVER11!" like so many people. It's okay, I guess. I find better Disney songs and lots of more likeable characters in their previous works that only in Frozen.

To be fair Disney can do better, which makes things exciting and promising for their future and ours, but at the moment I do think that Frozen is amazing and the best of the modern era.

Also, this June when Dreamworks drops HttyD2, that could possibly break some boxoffice records. And in 2015, everyone will be back on the Pixar bandwagon when The Inside Out & The Good Dinosaur comes out. This is Disney Animation moment to shine. I hope Frozen continues it amazing run. This is one of the biggest films in CGI animation history & it's from Walt Disney Animation Studios:)

Agree, the Frozen craze is going to stop like hitting a brick wall when HtyyD2 comes out, it's going to be like Frozen wasn't even made at all, and yeah agree again with 2015, everybody is going to be back on the Pixar train and even DreamWorks with what they're planning.

Yeah, same yeah, hopefully it lasts for years and years to come and it's just most people being hyped because it's something a little different. Hopefully we can look back in 25 years time, like we are with Little Mermaid and Beauty and the Beast etc at the moment and be like " Yeah, Tangled, Ralph and Frozen were fantastic, remember those good times " ? c:


About people whinging about race, look at what happened with Frozen, there was like " this is racist " complaints almost each week, and " boycott this racist movie " and " this movie is just Tangled on ice " !! And look at how successful it was, so if Tumblr jumps on that " this movie is racist " train again with BH6 , just ignore it, and go see the movie anyways. No, Frozen won't be forgotten. When Anna/Elsa join the Princess Line, that's where they'll continue on. Now WiR, those characters are almost forgotten "besides Disney Infinity".

By the time HTTYD2 comes out, Frozen will have been out of theaters for months, but I doubt it will be forgotten. Tangled hasn't been forgotten, and that came out years ago. Good movies that resonate with the public like Frozen don't just disappear from people's minds just because another good movie came out. And we don't even know if HTTYD2 will be a good movie yet. There is a chance it will suck, as many sequels do. Pixar also hasn't been as strong as they once were, and people won't get 'back on the Pixar train' unless their movies start matching the excellence of their glory days. People, however, are getting back on the Disney train right now, and they will hopefully be able to keep it up.

The studios are in competition with each other, but sometimes I think it's silly when fans seem to be in competition with each other too, downplaying or bashing one studio over another. It really is a win win situation for us if they all are trying hard to make good movies to win our attention and love.

Exactly. As the old saying goes, let the haters hate! There will always be those people who get off, saying these type of things, and probably hope it's actually racist, to justify their existence in life.

Pretty much anything that isn't a princess with a huge box office is forgotten by Disney. Poor Ralph and Vanellope. Tiana would also get the boot from Disney, but since she's a princess and Disney doesn't want to appear racist they still keep her in the line. Sad, really.

Yeah, at Disney World last year (I went twice), there was LITERALLY no merch at all. And remember: I went TWICE. If WIR was Pixar, it would be plattered everywhere.

Heck, that happens to characters that are in the princess films but aren't a princess as well. Last September, I went to Disney World and one of the things, I got was a Rapunzel pin as she's my favorite princess and I wanted a Flynn Rider pin to go with her but none of the parks had any Tangled pins other then Rapunzel. Well, except for the combo pack that is super expensive and the pins don't always look that good in those sets. I mean, I looked at every other park and even remember asking at the pin store in Hollywood Studios, if they had Flynn. I got a really rude response that they stopped selling the Flynn pins because he no longer appears in the parks.

Wreck-It Ralph merchandise should have focused a lot more on actual video games and similar products. Instead there was a shitty generic platformer game and some online versions of the games in the movie, which were actually well done for online games but could have been much better fully realized for consoles. I don't think Disney had much confidence in the movie doing well since developing stuff like that should have been a no brainer. At least they're in Disney Infinity.

I don't know if WIR really captured the public's interest that much though. It did well and everyone liked it, but it never seemed to reach pop culture phenomenon status like Frozen has. I bet if it had Pixar's name in front of it it would have been taken more seriously by adults (and awards organizations *cough*).

WIR is also PERFECT for attractions at Disney parks too so it's a shame it's being swept under the rug. There are so many different opportunities. Even something as simple as a Candy Crush layover of the boring car rides would have been great, but yeah that's not gonna happen

I'm amazed that there will be a trailer included on this.

Also in the press release it gives details of the pricing the 3D Combo Pack, yet apparently it isn't coming quite yet though it's listed in the press release. Odd
