I hope we get a full cast list soon !

The movie looks fun.

Seems like PG Harley Quinn. And i mean the Margot Robbie crazy hot lady anti-hero version. Not Bruce Tim orginal.

I think this could be a really fun movie.

Since Cruella is a villain i hope we get lots of dark and morbid comedy !

I wonder what character she will play.

According to the Hollywood trade, it is unknown who the actress will be playing. However, we have heard she will play the role of Anita, who would later go on to be the owner of Perdita.

Q: Anita?

Skyler Shuler: Very likely, yes.

I thought they would cast someone younger as Anita. This actress is even older than Joely Richardson was in the 1996 remake.

I don't think she is playing any character from the animated movie . She is either playing someone from Dodie Smith book or much more likely an original character.

Everyone who wants to get hint of what the story might be should read this article. It only spulaction but it is fasting on the les !

https://mashable.com/article/cruella-or ... urope=true

It mentions the all bit very brief backstory book Cruella had that the animated version cut out. It isn't much and rather vague but it's way more in depth than the movies(both the animated orginal and the Glen Close one) gave us about Cruella's past !

Anyone interested in even just the animated 101 Dalmatians should in fact read it i think !

It's nice that Dodie Smith gave at least some hints about her past. :)

I did like the backstory Dodie Smith gave Cruella in her book. Would have made for far more fun material than what it looks like we're getting, although perhaps a bit too dark.

Thanks for sharing that article, DisneyFan97! I haven't read Dodie Smith's book, so I didn't know all those details about the original Cruella. Some of them were a bit surprising for a children's book.

Yeah, I guess so. But, who knows, maybe she's the one who's playing Anita instead of Emily Beecham.

I have long wondered if this movie will treat Cruella De Vil and the Original Animated movie the same way Todd Philips treated the Joker and the Batman Mythos as a whole.

I have for a long time wondered if this Creulla movie might be Disney answer to the Joker movie ?

I mean they share the element of being an Origin for Famous fictional villain having really talented people attached.

Joker was written by Scott Silver and Producer Emma Tillinger Koskoff.

And the Director Todd Philips is an Oscar Nominee

Meanwhile this movie is written by Aline Brosh McKenna, Tony McNamara and the screenwriter of Saving Mr Banks. Plus Three Other people( Dana, Jez and Steve) that nobody Cars about. It Executive produced by Glen freaking Close ! and Marc Platt the Oscar nominated producer of La La Land !

And Craig Gillespie is coming of the crticaö darling I,Tonya.

Might this be a way for Disney to try to replicate Joker(2016)s success.

Both Are also set during the same time period !

Can this be Disney trying to do their own ( asume much more family Friendly) attempt at a Joker-Style movie ?

I think Cruella was in Production first but someone at the Studio might have hears about Joker early on and decided to so a similar thing !

They just seem to share a usual amount of elements.

And Warner Brothers is Disney’s biggest competitor

Doubt it. Cruella would only get on Joker's league if Disney goes hands-off and genuinely wants to make an interesting character study. But Disney will still want to make toys and make it appealing to kids, so they can't go too far-off.

Joker was pretty good, one of the best films this year easily.

That's what I thought too when I read that part. It wasn't a very clever idea on Cruella's part.

With all due respect and by the way i also loved Joker !!!!!!

Don't underestimate Craig Gillespie, Aline Brosh McKenna , Kelly Marcel and Tony McNamara. Those four people might deliver a simliar take on Cruella D Vill that Todd Philips did on The Joker !

I mean are familer with Craig Gillespie and Tony McNamara previus two movies ?

They were both almost near masterpeices an Aline Brosh McKenna is extermly talanted. She created one of the best tv( okey it's to be complety honest on Neflkix and not techinally on TV but anyway) shows curnntely running !

And Kelly Marcel while she wrote one of the frist movies of the deacde(Hint the Duagther of the startr of Miami Vice has lots of sex !) She also wrote Saving Mr Banks which was really goodd !

So i think Crulla could at leat a 7 out of 10 movie !

I am super excited for Cruella !

But i have the questions regarding the movie.

1:Who wrote the final Screenplay for this movie that they are really using ?

2: Who will compose the score for the movie ?

Emma Stone talks about the film in a new interview:
"It's pretty trippy. It's wild," Stone said of playing a younger version of the notorious character, adding that she often finds herself on set thinking, "'This is bananas.'"

As for her inspiration, Stone said she is looking both to Glenn Close, who portrayed Cruella in Disney's beloved live-action adaptation of 101 Dalmatians in 1996, as well as the original 1961 animated classic One Hundred and One Dalmatians.

"I think she's obviously the GOAT," Stone said of Close, "but I also have just loved the cartoon for a really long time."
"This comes before [Close's] story," she added of her own upcoming take on Cruella's younger years. "This leads to her to where she becomes true greatness."
And here are more new photos from the set:

I like her beatnik look and what Stone says about how she looks to the two previous Cruella's for inspiration.

Although i know it's technically not a "remake".

I still use the trem because i can't find another for catrtozing a l of Disney's live action moves based on animatd things. Soi the word remakes will have to do.
