I hope so too.Mickeyfan1990 wrote:So far that's all that planned. Re: New Mickey Mouse Shorts Coming in 2013
Even though its another channel, it could be another case like the Looney Tunes show where even though it gets solid ratings what's planned is what's planned and that's it. The looney tunes show (as well as the last Scooby Doo) was only done to keep the characters in the public eye, to have something new to air. I'm skeptic we'll get any more than those 19 episodes myself. Especially with the amount of whining about the style I'm seeing on other sites.
Re: New Mickey Mouse Shorts Coming in 2013
The whining is more of a minority. I think, like any other television series, they've ordered 19 episodes for the first season and will see how that does before they order a second season. Based on the fact that the majority opinion is very positive and the episodes are being Tweeted and Facebook-posted, it will likely be evident to Disney they have a new hit on their hands.

The whining I've seen from The Looney Tunes Show is why I no longer take the "true" fans seriously.Kyle wrote:Even though its another channel, it could be another case like the Looney Tunes show where even though it gets solid ratings what's planned is what's planned and that's it. I like The Looney Tunes Show. Even though I admit the 1st season is not a good start, but the second season was better.Semaj wrote:The whining I've seen from The Looney Tunes Show is why I no longer take the "true" fans seriously.Kyle wrote:Even though its another channel, it could be another case like the Looney Tunes show where even though it gets solid ratings what's planned is what's planned and that's it. How did you find that? I'm having a tough time finding that.TsWade2 wrote:Oh, by the way, I jsut found out on the first episode of Mickey Mouse receives ratings 3.573M. Let's celebrate!
Otherwise, that is a great rating for the first Mickey Mouse short!

Well, first I went to Wikipedia and it shows the ratings on every episode and I go to their references and it was announced on twitter.Sorcerer Mickey wrote:How did you find that? Of course, if that didn't work, here's the quote on twitter.
Disney's Friday premiere ratings: 8:00 ANT = 3.340M 8:30 Mickey = 3.573M 8:35 Jessie = 3.739M 9:00 Gravity = 3.498M 9:30 Phineas = 3.116M
Re: New Mickey Mouse Shorts Coming in 2013
I have mixed feelings so far.
No Service - this is the first time I've seen Mickey and Donald "nude". And since the comics make a point of not showing them naked, it was slightly awkward
Yodelberg - what's up with the real avalanche footage?
New York Weenie - weird teeth.
I like the art-style but the stories are a little boring or indifferent.

Plus, as stated before, Goofy is a real jerk towards his two closest friends. Granted, he is running the restaurant and has to follow standard policy (no shirt, no shoes, no service), but still, I would expect that kind of behavior from Pete, not from Goofy.Lnds500 wrote:No Service - this is the first time I've seen Mickey and Donald "nude". Yeah I noticed this too and found it odd and way out of character for Goofy. They should have just put Pete in there. Having Goofy in that role made no sense or have Goofy almost serving them but then Pete comes and kicks the two out and threatens Goofy to run the shop that way or he's fired.Big Disney Fan wrote:Plus, as stated before, Goofy is a real jerk towards his two closest friends. As much as I agree for Goofy for being out of character, but I just found out that as soon as the Tokyo episode airs on Disney Channel, Goofy will be in the next episode helping with Mickey and Donald. And I'm sure he'll be more lovable than the last episode he's in.

I say just think of it this way the characters are long time actors that sometimes take in many roles depending on what the cartoon is.People tend to forget that when Goofy was Dippy Dawg he was more of a jerk.I think maybe with the "No Service" cartoon they were going back to his "Dippy Dawg" personality.

Also, in the cartoon "Ye Olden Days", Mickey actually did battle with Goofy (as Dippy) to win the hand of Minnie. And I suppose this Goofy could be any one of the many Goofy lookalikes from the sports cartoons, where they were pretty aggressive (especially "How To Play Football" and "Hockey Homicide"). It could also be how Goofy was when he was Mr. Wheeler in "Motor Mania".jazzflower92 wrote:I say just think of it this way the characters are long time actors that sometimes take in many roles depending on what the cartoon is.People tend to forget that when Goofy was Dippy Dawg he was more of a jerk.I think maybe with the "No Service" cartoon they were going back to his "Dippy Dawg" personality.

Goofy was also quite aggressive in his 50's and 60's shorts, such as "Father's are People", "Teachers are People", "Man's Best Friend", "Hello Aloha", "Father's Day Off", "Freewayphobia" and "Goofy's Freeway Troubles".Big Disney Fan wrote:Also, in the cartoon "Ye Olden Days", Mickey actually did battle with Goofy (as Dippy) to win the hand of Minnie. It also seems that the new Mickey shorts are also giving Goofy the "George Geef" treatment by casting him in random roles (the snack shack chef in "No Service", his cross-dressing bit in "New York Weenie", etc.).
Re: New Mickey Mouse Shorts Coming in 2013
Actually, Goofy's alter egos predate his "Geef" days. George G. Geef was mainly his suburban persona.disneyphilip wrote:Big Disney Fan wrote:

I just saw the Tokyo cartoon! You'll never guess how it turns out at the end! I'm not going to say anything, however, because I don't want to spoil it for anyone, but go see for yourself.

Most of us saw it online a week ago so yeah, we know how it ends.
