Much like Cinderella, blu-ray rips of the European release have leaked online. I will be interested to see how close this new transfer will be to the old edition in regards to sharpness and color.

I expect it to be identical in every field except the resolution. Unfortunately I thought Peter Pan's last edition was rather soft ...

And you are absolutely correct. After a direct comparison between the two I can confirm they used the exact same restoration that was presented on the platinum edition a few years ago.

This appears to be the final cover art. I think TinkerBell and the storybook app icon diminishes the classiness of the original.

[a little speculation] It seems Disney will stop supporting the Bambi/Lion King-style Second Screen features and stick with the Cinderella-like style.

I suggest you order NOW. Currently the 3-Disc combo is $5 cheaper than the standard 2-disc combo

Even though the classiness has been reduced as you say, it's much classier than I would have expected! I like it! :)

i gotta say Im not a fan of the added Tinkerbell. Before, I saw this as Peter Pan's shadow on the clock... like Peter was beyond the camera.
Now with Tink added, I see Peter Pan's shadow.... but I see the character of the shadow (the one that Peter is chasing when he gets into the nursery), and Peter isnt anywhere beyond the camera anymore.

Its like TInk found his shadow....

We have been used to so many bad covers from Disney, that this looks like a masterpiece to us.

Agreed. But it still feels like an attempt to sell the film based on tinks success.

I like the Tink (I felt the cover felt a bit heavy on the left side), however she's HUGE.

I think Tinker Bell was the perfect added edition, and I wouldn't mind Peter being small on copying his shadow's move far away from us on the clock hands. Tinker Bell doesn't need a shadow because light is on the part of her body that is facing us.

Disney gives us a crappy regular edition cover and then a special, much better and classier cover for it's special digital copy version. Oh Disney. Does your evil know no bounds? You're a money grubbing villain your own films say you shouldn't be!

The restoration will the same as the one presented on the platinum edition DVD.

Is there a video or screencap comparison that shows both restorations are the same?

It's a shame they gave up on the restoration efforts since that's pretty much all that was new with these releases.

Peter Pan is being sold in Spain already.

...the DVD just comes with a Sing Along as Extras.
