The Dutch cover art is much better, as they followed advice similar to mine.

Normally, though, these particular sets only stay on the market for a few weeks, and the separate editions of films are normally given higher priority in promotion and exposure.

Bambi will be available separately, mark my word. For some reason, Disney UK loves to release "movie collections"; they're simply two or more films, otherwise available separately, shoved into cardboard slipcases. Originals and sequels are often paired together (as in this case), as are films with similar themes (Princess films, films made by Pixar); The Jungle Book and Pinocchio were even bundled together on account of them being Platinums!MJW wrote:Wow, that's an interesting concept; to pair the movie with its sequel. Not sure how everyone will feel about this, though, as I'm sure the traditionalists won't be too keen on the original classic paired with a DTV sequel.

An individual release for Bambi II on Blu-ray is now officially up for pre-order here in the Netherlands. Same with Germany and France. I wonder what the US will get, at this point there's no sign of the sequel. With only two months to go I doubt there will be any kind of release for the sequel, same thing happened with the Beauty and the Beast sequels, right?

Seems Disney has a different plan for the sequels.Duckburger wrote:An individual release for Bambi II on Blu-ray is now officially up for pre-order here in the Netherlands. Plus, if I think what I think you're getting mixed up with, BK, I think that the Walt Disney is attached to "Les Croquis du chef d'œuvre", and not to either film (though covers that have surfaced on the net have suggested that Bambi will carry the "Walt Disney" label). "Les croquis du chef d'œuvre de Walt Disney" would translate as "Sketches from Walt Disney's masterpieces", hinting that art cards would be included in the Blu-Ray set.Khonnor wrote:Actually, it says "Walt Disney's BAMBI" and "Disney's BAMBI II"BK wrote:I'm more affected by the fact they are calling Bambi 2 by Walt or so it seems since I don't understand French.

Oh my god... that DVD cover is simply gorgeous!!Old Fish Tale wrote:French DVD and BD packs!
I hope they revise the british DVD and BD packs in time!

And so is the Danish artwork ^
The US artwork wouldn't be so bad if the title was placed horizontally. But ah well.
I am so excited for this release!

Wonderlicious...what advice...it looks like only the title has been changed? I think Bambi, Thumper, and Flower should be more centered, too.
THE FIRST French cover is gorgeous! Why doesn't the US one look like that? Seriously. Is it proven big heads get children to buy it?
Yamiiguy...h-h-h-how do you hate the French art, at least the first image with Bambi sticking his head out from behind the leaves with the Great Prince and Friend Owl across from him? How do you like the Blu-ray art more...?

As a lover of both french covers, the blu-ray art has a much classier look to it. It even has storyboard art.Disney Duster wrote:Wonderlicious...what advice...it looks like only the title has been changed? I think Bambi, Thumper, and Flower should be more centered, too.![]()
