Duster, I actually read your posts but posted early in the morning so it's no suprise I missed something
I wasn't trying to pretend sports aren't different, just trying to say that like other hobbies or jobs there is a chance you can get hurt. However there are also less violent sports teams out there, Little League and other Youth teams for example. All of your examples are from two of the more violent sports, Football and Boxing (and UFC as well) I think it's a bit fair to generalize that all sports are as violent and have that in them.
And for everybody's information, I'm gay (really, you couldn't tell?) played soccer on a youth team, and liked it.Except, you know, when people were kicking each other, accidentally or purposely. Or getting hit with the ball, accidentally or purposely. Those "really competitive" (probably just really aggressive) guys can always say it was an accident. I would also run or swim on teams if I had the time, I like doing both those things, just not as much as writing and making art and stuff.
I'm not going to lie but there are some people in sports who can take it too far

There's always going to be someone who's very competitive, they'll do anything to win. It's unfortunate yes, that they'll do that since it can ruin things, but it's also perhaps not so simple. Maybe they had one of those Dad's who was once an aggressive athelete and is pushing them too hard just like they were pushed hard.
Anyays, moving on (somewhat) there's competition, and overly competitive people everywhere not just in sports. People often hav to compete against each other to get jobs or grants. Even in the home, when you play board games there's competition and sometimes you can find people overly competitive, my Aunt for example is very gung ho. She won't ever resort to cheating but she's very competitive, and in a way I actually like that since it makes me want to do better and try harder.
