Just picked up my mail, and I got the Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of te Black Pearl (2 Disc) - the local R4 copy. Looks very cool.

I know how I will be wasting tomorrow...

Got Emily Bronte's Wuthering Heights yesterday. It's the 1992 version starring Ralph Fiennes and Juliette Binoche.

I've never read the book, though I tried to last fall. I just got really confused with the "flashback", and all the children confused me (two Catherine's? and which one was really Heathcliff's son?). So I watched this version of the movie when it was on Bravo! last week Thursday night, in order to help me better understand it.

It's the scariest movie I've ever seen. I couldn't get to sleep after watching it, and I kept waking up in the middle of the night thinking about it! I haven't looked at a tree the same way since seeing it, and yesterday I bought the DVD.

I really didn't want to-it's a horrible movie that's 2 hours of bitterness and greed, but in the same way, I really wanted to.

I'm being "haunted" by Wuthering Heights. Now I need to read the novel (if I can handle it).

We picked up Schindler's List the other day at Walmart. Now there is a disturbing, yet uplifting movie. Right now we are trying to finish watching the documentary. This is a film I think everyone must see if you haven't already.

What's the movie actually about? I'm not sure I can take another movie that shows me the dark side of humanity:

In the past week I've seen Wuthering Heights (x2), Family Sins, I'm reading Jane Eyre, and next week I'm going to see Macbeth.

It's about Oscar Schindler, a "businessman" taking advantage of cheap Jewish labor during the Holocaust to make his fortune. After witnessing the atrocities happening to the Jews, he ended up using all the money he made to "buy" Jewish workers, men, women, and children to work in his factory, in effect saving them from death by the Nazis. It's hard to watch what happened to the Jews in this movie, but the story is a TERRIFIC example of how one person really can make a difference. It is a difficult movie to watch, but I recommend at some point making yourself sit through it and watch it.

I agree in that it is a VERY WELL MADE film. Everyone really should watch it. I can guarantee many people would be uplifted from it.

btw.. it's Oskar Schindler... just a FYI!

This kind of has to do with the topic: Last night I had a dream that I found every Limited Edition DVD at Costco for $8.99. There was only 1 copy of each, and I got them all.

Sweet dream, but it sucked when I woke up.

If you can order sweet tea in almost any restaurant, and your beverage comes without a spoon and a packet of sugar to stir into your cold iced tea that won't dissolve previously mentioned paket of sugar, the locality is classified as Southern.
