Walt Disney Treasures Wave 6 Discussion
i can't wait for the sets. glad to finally see the pics...i'm also very glad to see Little Hiawatha in the silly symphonies set. i have never seen it but it really interested me when i saw it in one of the single disc dvd's that disney is putting out. i wanted to buy it but i knew it would make it into a treasures soon. i just thought it would be in a disney rarities vol 2 set instead.

Nice - although the release date is a bit late.
If any of the Silly Symphonies had been excluded this time, it would probably have been because Disney wouldn't want us to have them at all. Fortunately, everything seems all right.
22 Pluto shorts - that's "thin" for a two-disc set. They could have included a few MM shorts with Pluto appearances...

That makes a lot of sense.
However, couldn't the longer DD titles also fit into vols 3-4, or would that just be too much?
A "Rarities" set (or two) should include the ones you list, but could also, I guess, include a handful of Alice and Oswald and a number of more modern shorts known to exist (~1970 and later).

Everyone seems to forget that there are more Hardy Boys and Spin & Marty sets that can be made, as well as subsequent volumes of Elfego Baca and the Swamp Fox. Disney also hasn't touched Texas John Slaughter and I would LOVE to own the Moochie TV specials (Kevin Corcoran). There are more episodes of Disneyland that deal with the park. I would be ecstatic for a Disneyland U.S.A. vol. 2! And even though Zorro is surfacing on DVD through the DMC, a Zorro set would be awesome with suplemental features. It would be cool to see the movie that was made from the show and released in theaters, but highly unlikely. Anyways, what I'm getting at is that just because Disney releases all of their short subjects doesn't mean the Treasures line has to end. I personally would like to see it milked until we have everything!!!!! lol... maybe not everything.

Jack and Old Mac as well as Ben and Me are on Disney Rarities.
Bubble Bee will be on Pluto Volume 2.
Our Friend the Aton is on the Tomorrowland treasure.
What I listed was simply in Walt Disney's era, others such as The Small One and John Henry were made after him.

Also, I think the purpose of the Treasures series is primarily to focus on projects in which Walt was involved---or at least those produced within his lifetime (hence the title Walt Disney Treasures, as opposed to "Disney's" anything). That criterion would eliminate a lot of titles on that list.
