I'm guessing that means that the movie is still doing well in Mexico, yes?

And forgive me everyone for repeating this again, but why hasn't Luke been posting about CL on the main page? I figure he'd be all over that.

Well I went over to that link (thanks!) and all I can say is Oh Brother! I read like the first 2 reviews and thought what movie did they see????

One person saying it should be rated "R" because it is too violent?! Another person saying it was boring? I was in a theater packed full of people and no one was walking out... they all cheered at the end.... whatever!

The proof is in the ticket sales.

yeah chicken little is great. and a lot of people like it. i cant wait to see it in 3D.

Seems that overseas Chicken Little is doing really well. It topped no. 1 in Brazil and Belgium each. Bringing this week's overseas total to an additional 15 million. So the overseas now stands at a total of approximately 21 million now.

It was okay. Slightly better then I expected, but nothing to write home about. I always felt it was an original story, but it wasn't fantastic either. The singing pig got annoying after about the 3rd song. Okay, we get it, he likes disco and uses songs to calm himself. It got old.
Also, the music itself got old. Too many musical flashbacks, like they were trying hard to be like Shrek or something by using the older songs, but they just used them too much.
I did like the fish out of water though. Something about him was amusing. His constant game of charades and how naive he was.
Overall look was pretty good. The CGI style was kinda neat.
The ending with the story being changed when they made the movie about Chicken Little was kinda funny.

Please, nobody hate me, but I though Chicken Little was a pretty poor movie. I thought the story was too similar to Finding Nemo and unoriginal. Especially towards the end where Chicken Little is trying to get to the top of the tower with Kirby and he says "Dad, trust me!". Didn't Nemo say the exact same thing?

I didn't think the animation was all that great. Personally, I think the Toy Story dvd looks crisper and cleaner than this did. Most of the voice cast seemed to be miscast, especially Chicken Little. I thought the voice was too "old" and "big" for the character. I did enjoy Adam West's (batman from the 1960s TV series) cameo as Ace and Patrick Warburton's little bit. I find it funny that most people say their favorite character was Fish or Kirby, who really didn't have any lines.

The music left much to be desired. I can't stand it when a movie is interrupted for 3 minutes for a "music video". This happened a couple of times and doesn't add much to the story. Furthermore, I didn't especially enjoy the original music and can't say I even remember any of it now. And what was up with the Spice Girls?

As for the story, I thought it was weak. The subplot of Chicken Little being able to talk to his dad added little to the movie and just slowed it down. I hate it when a comedy or action movie goes out of its way trying to tackle a "serious" issue.

My last issue with the movie was the intensity of it. My 4-year-old girl was terrified to death when they went inside the alien space ship because of the editing to build up the suspense, the sound effects, and the surprises. I was even surprised a couple of times and jumped a bit. I thought this movie was a bit intense for a G rating. This is Disney, not Aliens.

In summary, most of the movie just kind of dragged on and included several scences that added little to the plot, some were funny, some weren't. The last 20 minutes were decent and I thought the aliens were pretty funny, after they got their baby back. I personally enjoyed the "Hollywood" version of the movie that they watched at the end better than the acutal movie.

Well, the estimates have come in. Goblet of Fire owned the theaters and kicked major tail big time. Some analysists were correct in CL's drop of about 60% or so. In it's third weekend, CL earned about 14.7 million, a somewhat huge drop, with 99.1 million in it's first 3 weeks.

Someone at the BOM forums said that Monsters Inc. experienced a similar drop back in 2001, and that it went back up over Thanksgiving weekend. If CL manages this pattern, then that poster said it might round right near Shark Tale's box office run; which I think is really good for Disney. It's been a LONG while since their animated films have done this well. So I'll be happy for them.

And let's not forget the next Disney movie, Narnia, which will add even more bank for Disney.

Question. How long did CL stay no.1 for in Mexico? Of course HP4 is no.1 there now. What place is it now there?

My review on Chicken Little:

Well I went into this movie thinking that we might get a refreshing CGI film. However I was dreadfully wrong. Chicken Little marks the lowest Disney can go (besides Home on the Range). The movie had no relevance whatsoever. First off, the pop culture refrences have killed the movie. We do not want a movie like Dreamworks. Yet Disney makes a movie with an abnormal amount of pop culture refrences. Please, we do not need to hear these most of the movie. Next, again we have things that belong in Shrek. When Runt farted numerous times, was that really appropriate, I think not. Again, when Chicken Little and Ugly Mallard kiss, is that really helpful to the plot  . You didn't even see two minutes of chemistry before that, and what are they, like twelve years old. Next, voice casting was mediocre at best. Zach Braf was not a good voice actor for Chicken Little. Since when does a young character have an adult voice? The plot was also to constricted. Disney, Open Up! Make the plot longer, or don't try to put ten things in ten minutes, it won't work. Also, the score was not that memorable. The animation was the only thing well done, in which it was still lacking behind Pixar. Sorry, I hate to say it, but I am very leary of this movie. It was worse than Shrek 2 in many aspects, but it rates better by 2 on my rating scale due to the fact that it didn't have as many inappropriate things and as many pop culture refrences, but it failed.

Final Score: 5/10 or a 50% which would be an F!

That really dosn't make a lot of sense. Just because a movie makes a lot of money at the box office, dosn't mean it is a good movie. Heck, look at War of the Worlds or Shark Tale. They made money, yet they were horrible, as the same goes with Shrek 2 and Chicken Little. I am also rooting for Chicken Little to do well, because I want Disney to do well. The movie has no reason to be deserving any awards come the Golden Globes and Oscars.

I might be mistaken, it could have been burps. However there really isn't a difference.

Well let me tell you something. Many people hate Shrek 2 with a passion. I don't know how there is something wrong with me for disliking it. First I cannot like a "child's" movie that has Pinocchio wearing a thong. How is that supposed to be funny? And really, I've criticized Shrek 2 probably 20 times at this board, so I see know reason to repeat myself.
