The logo from this year's CinemaCon.

A commemorative coin for the crew who worked on the film. What's interesting here is that Mario Furmanczyk is a WDAS animator who was "loaned" to the VFX studio working on the new The Lion King and then returned to work on Wreck-It Ralph 2. I wasn't aware Disney continued this practice. I wonder how many Disney animators ended up working on these live-action remakes.

I'm very happy they didn't bother to try and modify the logo. Wish they learned for Aladdin.

FAKE NEWS! These animatronics aren't from The Lion King remake. Another instance of Disney Film Facts spreading false and inaccurate information.disneyprincess11 wrote:Our very first look of the lions: CGI AND animatronics. Here's Mufasa!

Re: The Lion King (Live-Action)
I'm glad that's fake because the above picture looked more like a random lion and not at all like Mufasa. I hope he keeps his fiery red mane.

Loving the logo. Is that maybe from a future trailer? A teaser can't be too far away.
Just as an observation, shouldn't the title of this thread be changed? I don't think this one will feature anything live action. Unless I missed out on any details.

Re: The Lion King (Live-Action)
Someone clearly didn't get the memo that Broadway songs won't be in the film.

Re: The Lion King (Live-Action)
Why ain't that a surprise? It was previously reported that The Circle of Life-sequence was pretty much identical to it's animated counterpart.
Re: The Lion King (Live-Action)
That is exciting. I suppose a preview can't be far behind

Re: The Lion King (Live-Action)
I’ve been hearing rumblings about a trailer heading our way soon for a while. I’m honestly a little surprised though that Disney is dropping one so early because I feel like with the nature of the film, it could really end up overshadowing Aladdin’s live action film which hits a few months before. Aladdin is going to be the tougher sell of the two for sure simply because people will see Lion King for the “how are they doing this” factor, whereas Aladdin could easily be put into Beauty and the Beast territory where people are afraid it’s going to be a disappointment or rehash. To me it would have made a lot more sense to drop a teaser for this at the beginning of the year, very brief, then a month later drop the first full Aladdin trailer. I’ll be very interested to see how they pull off marketing two of their largest properties in live action almost back to back. This will be an strange year for Disney, no doubt.

Re: The Lion King (Live-Action)
The timing between the two movies really is off, not to mention Avengers 4 and even Toy Story 4. Solo suffered in part from Disney's own competition and I feel as though all of Disney's properties are going to be working against each other here. I always felt that The Lion King and Aladdin should never have been released back to back. They are both event movies and one of them should have been saved for 2020.

Re: The Lion King (Live-Action)
Nah, I don't think there will be any problems with these two. They have two months between them, and I think they will have excellent box-office success. Their animated versions are very popular and they're beloved by fans all over the world.
I'm super excited for both of them.
