I'm glad they're doing more than just the fairytales. The Dumbo cover is quite nice. I'll definitely be picking these up when I can.

Aladdin is also getting a book release in May after the Dumbo release in March. It's safe to say that we can expect The Lion King in July to follow.

I wonder if we'll ever get any books for the Disney films that had previous live-action releases like Cinderella, The Jungle Book, and Beauty and the Beast.

Does anybody know about this new line of books? Are they just reprints of the earlier storybooks or something else?

Right on cue. I wonder which books will follow next in the series since there are no more live-action remakes for the rest of the year. Maybe Lady and the Tramp?

Lol, I agree and I like the consistency so far, although I doubt that'll last.

Those classic books with black backgrounds have ok covers but the best covers are the Disney Animated Classics covers, those rule! By the way, do those Animated Classic books have art you guys have not seen anywhere else?

By Disney Animated Classics covers, do you mean the ones posted above like The Lion King one? I do like those and think they would be nice coverart for slipcovers.

Um, tbh I'm not sure if there were any new images or not. Snow White didn't seem to have anything explicitly new since I've read both the "making-of" book and the "art of" book. I haven't read the making of Sleeping Beauty book (the one that also featured a section on Maleficent) though so I can't compare with that. And TLM has never really had a major art book so I'm not sure about that as well. Most of the art seemed familiar enough though, especially since a lot of it is animation drawings and animation cels.

Yes I meant the ones that have in parenthesis (Disney Animated Classics) like The Lion KIng. I don't want any of these covers as Disney home video covers as they are, but if they were deisgned not so meant for books but more...meant for movies I might? I dunno how that would look exactly. Maybe color in things?

My friend just bought me Sleeping Beauty (Disney Animated Classics) as a gift, so I am quite glad to have it, and it has I think a few pieces of art I have never seen before!

Those animated classics books look awesome. I went ahead and ordered Snow White, Sleeping Beauty and The Little Mermaid. :) I'm loving the cover designs.

It would've been nice to have a release of the fairy tale films where the covers look like storybooks (or using the actual storybooks created for the films as the covers in the case of some Walt films--similar to the Sleeping Beauty steelbook from years back)

I was thinking of the Sleeping Beauty steelbook too. But not just the fairy tale films but also the other ones like The Jungle Book, Winnie the Pooh, Pinocchio (if you don't count that as a fairy tale film), etc.

I had the idea for all the Disney films that opened with books to have home video covers that looked like those books a long time ago. You guys are awesome to also think of that idea!

Has anybody bought Disney Princesses: The Castle Collection?
Image

It features diagrams and information on the castles for most of the princesses and I'm curious if it's worth a buy. I've seen images of Ariel's palace but I'm curious if there's anything worthwhile on the castles seldom seen in the original movies, like Snow White's castle for example.

Oh, that actually sounds interesting. I wonder though if it'll be very informative or more aimed at children?

I couldn't find the book on Google Books, but its Amazon page does show a few photos.

Hmm, thanks. I just looked at those pages and think it's more aimed at kids. I would have loved something like this but with more indepth information on designs and such.

Unfortunately, it does look like a kids book, as you said when you look at the preview of images released. Even so, I'm curious if there might be some more interesting tidbits of info in the pages not released.

The book is coming to the U.S. in October under the name The Princess Castle Book.
