If that's true, Frozen will be the third film in a row to debut in November. Which makes me wonder why TP&TF was saved for December...

It has already been announced that the film will be released on November 27, 2013.

I mean come on, He/She has no new knowledge and the stuff mentioned has already been made know via the web. + calling the cgi "clunky" I'm sorry but Disney would not have started fully animating the movie yet anyway, and why would it be "clunky" after the great cg animation in Tangled and WIR? It seems like a very unconvincing scoop tbh. +If they were an insider they would of know that Disney has released the title of one of the films songs !"
I am pretty sure s/he is telling the truth. That poster has a reputation on that forum and others as being an insider. Also has knowledge on other things related to Disney. Not that s/he is actively involved in the film but I doubt s/he is lying either when mentioning seeing a few scenes.

For the CGI, I believe the poster is referring to the designs more so than the actual animation quality.
disneyprincess11 wrote:Ooooooh, so this could be a big critical failure? At least, the music is good. As for the "clunky" CGI, maybe it's not done yet?
Too early to come to that conclusion, surely, as the poster hardly said anything damning.

I doubt Disney would sabotage their own film which took over a hundred million to produce. Needs a lot more evidence to support conspiracy theories like this.

"Frozen has been locked in for Thanksgiving 2013. It is behind schedule at the moment but Chris Buck is working hard to turn it around.

I've seen a couple of scenes and this feature will live and die on the relationship between the two leads (a mountaineer and a girl). The Snow Queen wasn't in any of the material I've seen. The dialog was a little clunky.

The music is by the Lopezes and will be their first serious feature at Disney (having done Winnie the Pooh and Finding Nemo The Musical). I've heard a couple of songs and they stuck with me.

I never thought that The Snow Queen was filmic material - the source material is pretty thin and depressing - we tried hard to make it work of the proposed musical at Tokyo DisneySea but it just didn't work. It is funny that we had 8 songs written by Menken for that production and now WDAS has hired a brand new songwriting team."

"That was the head scratcher for me too. I think Kai and Gerda have become Anna and Kristoff. Obviously they aren't the young kids from the novel.

The scenes I've been shown have a lot of comedy which seems out of place IMHO. The Snow Queen is a very dark tale and I'm not really sure why it is being repositioned as an action adventure / comedy. The CGI wasn't the best I've seen either - rather generic characters.

Happy to be proven wrong of course."

If this is true, than no wonder Disney hasn't released any character/concept art images of Frozen. "Rather generic characters" may be a reason nothing has been released! Like I said months before, Why Disney had concept images for Princess & the Frog, Tangled & Ralph released over a year before release for each of those films, but nothing for Frozen? The only images released was that low-res pencil-skech image of a short-haired Elsa & Anna. Olaf is the ONLY character to be fully revealed & his design has not gotten postive response. It's anyone's guess when anymore artwork will be released, if any! I always wondered why Disney was being so damn guarded when it came to Frozen, now I know.

It could be the pressure caused by Wizart's, "The Snow Queen." Just a thought.

I'm completely convinced by now that you are the Executive Producer on that movie.

Nope. I open to all animated movies, including Wizart's, "The Snow Queen," and Disney's, "Frozen," put together. If I want to be an Executive Producer in animation, I would better off be Executive Producer for my own animation studio than be one for other animation studios like Disney, Pixar, DreamWorks, Blue Sky, Illumination, and/or others.

P.S. Look at the bright side. Disney's, "Frozen," gets released after Wizart's, "The Snow Queen," which gives Disney an advantage to earn a wider audience. And that's not all, with the release of Wizart's, "The Snow Queen," it will give Disney another advantage to observe the film, and create better proportions in Disney's, "Frozen," to make it twice more popular against Wizart's.

That was the clear implication of your statement, that Disney was setting TPATF up to fail by releasing it in December. You didn't say it explicitly but I'm sure some of us got the point just fine and can respond to it.

Also, if Wizart's version is released before, that does give it a chance to do some amount of global business before Disney's version steamrolls over it. JK, that does sound pretty bad.

I don't get her rant. I mean Pinocchio was based on a original dark story, Hunchback, Sleeping Beauty ! In the original Sleeping Beauty she got raped and had to look after twins !

Snow White in the end the witch at the wedding was forced to dance on stoned heat things, till she died !

The music and CGI are just opinions and one persons junk is always other persons treasure. And Disney has always changed and twisted the story to suit the story to match a Family audience.

Do you think that Sleeping Beauty story is the same as Disney Sleeping Beauty ? No.

It's like the complaint that some people have these days that the ending to TLM is different and not the original. Of course it's not.

If you are referring to the poster which I quoted earlier, I would hardly call it a rant. S/he wasn't complaining, just commenting on what s/he noticed based on the scenes s/he watched.

You're reading too much into it.

But even if I were proposing a conspiracy theory instead of just wondering why 1 out of 4 films was released differently, I wouldn’t need to support my opinion to you, regardless.

But even then in respects, they still had some semblance to the source material but made cleaner or simplified, like how Snow White lost the poison comb and the other assassination attempt because Walt didn't want to make Snow White look THAT stupid.

The only thing Frozen seems to have in common with the Snow Queen is that there is a Snow Queen and a reindeer.

Snow White wasn't a terribly good example. Disney were still fairly faithful to their sources way back then.

Of course we will have goofy gags with Olaf, maybe village people, the reindeer, avalanches, cliché fall on frozen water and so on... We all knew that.
But THE DRAMATIC AND EMOTIONAL SISTERS CLASH THEME AND SAD BROKENHEARTED EXILED ELSA is real. We can rely on that. That movie WILL BE dark and emotional, juste because of that twist they bring into the story. It may be even darker than Tangled. Stay confident on that point.

Yeah, it was always a given that there would be large amounts of comedy in this movie, as is the case for virtually all of Western animation.

Tangled isnt exactly the best example for how Dark a Disney movie even today could be.
