Tribute to "eliminated attractions"
Beauty and the Beast:Live On Stage - A fun and heartwarming show that captures the spirit, songs, and heart of one of my favorite post-Walt DACs. Any show that can consitently move me to tears (when the Beast almost dies, then is saved) definitely gets extra points from me!
Voyage Of The Little Mermaid - Another fun show that captures the spirit, songs, and heart from the Little Mermaid, another of my fave DACs from the contemporary era. I LOVE the opening number where all the cute sea critters sing "Under the Sea"!
Tower Of Terror - This definitely appeals to the thrill ride junkie in me! I've been on several rides at numerous parks in the "drop tower" category, and Tower of Terror gives better airtime than just about any of them! I think this is because most rides in this genre have shoulder restraints, and ToT just has the seatbelts. If you can get some "play" in the belt, prepare to spend more time floating out of your seat than in it! The multiple drop sequences really adds to the thrills (and airtime) as well. The theming is, of course, very well done as well. I should have tried harder to help this attraction. Comparing the attractions I enjoy for the thrills vs the ones I like for their heartwarming charm or cute factor is a difficult apples to oranges comparison, though.
Muppet Vision - Another classic Disney 3-D attraction. Although it's my third favorite of the 4 WDW 3-D fliks (behind Philharmagic and Bug), I should have given it more points as I've always enjoyed the Muppets. Bean Bunny is cute as a button and I find the pre-show to be just as entertaining as the main film!
Magic Of Disney Animation - although not as interesting as it was when they were actually MAKING DACs here, the show with Mushu cracks me up and I enjoy being able to get a look at upcoming and current projects in the post-show area.
Playhouse Disney - Live On Stage - although targeted to preschoolers, I enjoy the puppetry and have a soft spot for this show due to it's cuteness factor. I enjoy the new version hosted by Mickey and the gang but overall I may have preferred the earlier Bear and the Blue House version slightly better.
Lights Motors Action - the stunt segments are VERY well done ( my favorite is the second, when the car jumps on top of the truck) and even some of the "filler" segments between the stunts are entertaining - thanks to the adorable Herbie the Love Bug, who had to "split"!
Indiana Jones Stunt Show - very well done as well. I like the second segment the best of the three stunt segments, and enjoy the explanation about the dangers of working with explosives!
Backlot Tram Tour - Not as good as when it was longer, it's still interesting though, to see all the various props from various films.
Sounds Dangerous - This show doesn't seem to get a lot of love from the fans. I've always enjoyed how convincing the headphones are, though, like the way it really feels like someone is cutting your hair, etc (both in the main show and postshow)
HISTA Movie Set Adventure - this was not included in the game. It's a charming little attraction with one of my favorite background music loops in the park, which can be found here: http://www.disneymusicloops.com/ (under Walt Disney World - Disney Studios - New York Street. My fave track is the beautiful and relaxing "Behind the Waterfall")

Here's my belated tribute to Star Tours. It's one of my all-time favorite simulators, and my favorite of the ones I've experienced that take place in a cabin-like setting on a relatively small screen (as opposed to the larger open ones with giant screens like my fave sim, Soarin). I enjoy the pre-show elements as well, such as the R2-D2 and C3-PO animatronics, and the pre-board film which shows an Ewok boarding while holding a plush Mickey, Chewie's reaction to flash photography, and an Ewok whose feet don't reach the floor. Cute, funny, stuff!
