And what about Mia, Disney's Divinity? Why is she untalented and what films have you seen her in?

I saw her in Alice in Wonderland, and I thought she was awful. :/

One film is enough to tell you someone is untalented? You're hard on everyone and everything, aren't you? For example, 'Once Upon a Time' isn't for me, but I saw eight hours of it before I made that decision!

If a person is bad in one movie, why would I want to watch them be bad in another, much less ruin a part in a movie I would like to see? :? Besides, I see Mia as just a bad actress. Kristen Stewart on the other hand... I almost wouldn't even consider her an actor at all she's so bad.

Based on one film... Unbelievable! You're really missing out. Tell me something: has any actor you consider talented given a performance you consider bad?

Yes, I have seen actors I normally like give performances that are bad for them. The difference being they have proven themselves, and I'm more inclined to give them the benefit of the doubt.

And, honestly, I don’t feel I’m “missing out” on anything. Where does this kind of thinking end? Do I need to waste money seeing 5 films of an actor before I decide that, hey, they’re bad and I’m not going to pay to see a movie they’re in anymore? Do I need to watch 2 seasons of a TV show, read 4 books of an author, buy 3 albums of an artist before I can say, no, I don’t like them? So ridiculous. You act like I called them horrible people or something.

That sounds... accidental. You probably would have deemed them untalented too if you had seen those performances you consider bad first. Don't you see how you're missing out?

Yes. At least, read more than one chapter, see more than one episode and hear more than one song! That's being sensible.

That yes doesn't go along with what I said, since I would hear/read/watch more than one song/one chapter/one episode. With an actor, I'm not going to see a second movie, unless they just happen to be there when I'm seeing the film for different reasons. (Which is how actors who give bad first performances can occasionally redeem themselves.) And, since I'm not a professional critic and I don't make enough money to just blow, I don't see anything that's not sensible about that point of view, so no. I apologize if the fact that I'm very decided, particular, and subjective when it comes to my opinions is offensive to you, but what I say about actors, singers, etc. is definitely not meant on a personal level--except in cases where I just flat-out don't like someone's personality, like Sharon Osbourne or Gwyneth Paltrow, in which case I admit that upfront. And often times my words are taken more strongly than I actually feel about someone; with Mia, for instance, it's not like I seethe and roll my eyes whenever I see her onscreen whenever I happen to catch Alice in Wonderland re-running on TV.

And when that happens, don't you feel bad for harshly judging them and their talent?

Anyway, I know who I'd love to see play Belle: Allison Williams. She's a criminally underrated actress and she kind of sings like a Disney princess!

Just had a thought - Gemma Arteton as Belle !! She'd be brilliant, and she can sing !

Anyone who saw 'Tess of the D'Urbervilles', 'The Disappearance of Alice Creed', 'Tamara Drewe' and 'Byzantium' knows how fantastic Gemma really is! I'd be very pleased!

This confirms it's going to be a musical!
When I asked her if she knew what led to composer Alan Menken being at the Kennedy Center for opening night, she related that he's a friend of van Laast and that Condon is filming Menken's BEAUTY AND THE BEAST.

She's beautiful and she comes from down the road to me. I wouldn't mind seeing her as Belle.

And now I'm being totally hypocritical as I previously said Anne Hathaway and Amanda Seyfried were too old as they were 31 and 28 respectively. Gemma is also 28. Oh well, at least I'm honest about it.
Settling Soul mates? That is grim. And I've played Monopoly alone.

Its lovely to hear 'Menken's Beauty & the Beast' ….. it makes me so sad he's been shoved off to the sidelines at Disney at the moment.

Hmm I do see what you mean about ages, but I still think Gemma would be a perfect match ! I never think that Belle is one of the younger Princesses anyway.

I wouldn't be surprised if they did the usual "musical-to-movie" adaptation treatment and have Menken write a new song, either for the movie itself or during the end credits. Would be an interesting bit of trivia if he ended up winning an Oscar for another song from a Beauty and the Beast movie.

I'm very glad to know for certain it's going to be a musical. I'm guessing whenever this film is re-released, Disney will re-release the animated film at the same time.

I don't know anything about Gemma Arterton, but she is pretty, I guess.

I can't say I really see why Disney needs to remake Beauty & the Beast when it's known to be one of the greatest animated films from the Disney Renaissance, and I am positive that everyone to this day still recognizes it for Disney's animated version and for being one of the greatest animated films ever. Disney even re-released it in theaters not too long ago too. I would think a reputation like that should make it immune to the need to be remade as a live-action movie.

Next I suppose there's going to be a live-action Little Merma...

Never mind.

No, of course not. I've just always watched the animated versions a lot more than I've seen the Broadway musicals. Why should I have a problem with great animated musicals like Disney's being re-enacted live on stage? That's different.

I'm not saying I'm upset about a live-action movie so much as I'm just saying that I don't see the point of it.

Well, here's horrific news: Kristen Stewart has dropped out of SW and the Huntsman 2. Meaning she has a bigger chance of ruining Belle and this beautiful classic
