From what I heard, Eustace's actor is Will Poulter.Disney's Divinity wrote:I think Caspian definitely looks better that way. Older, yes, but more mature at the same time (and I remember him being very mature in this book, though it's been a long time). And more attractive, which doesn't hurt.
Has there been any news of who will be playing Eustace yet? I'm pretty sure nothing's been released yet, but I might've missed something.
Anyway, I really hope they do a good job with this one--it was always my favorite of the books. Caspian was an improvement over Wardrobe, but I was a little disappointed that Edward's actor seemed a little less perfect for his role--hopefully he'll be better here. I'm also a little depressed that there won't be anymore films with all 4 of the original children as leads. I didn't mind with the books, because all the children seemed fairly interchangeable (the bad thing was that I actually started liking the "spoiled" children because they were the only ones who seemed to have any personality at all). The movies have been a lot different in that regard, and it's sad that Peter and Susan won't be around anymore.
And don't you mean Edmund's actor?

Ah, I love it!Disneykid wrote:A gorgeous teaser poster has been released:

This definitely means we're getting a teaser trailer on the horizon. Prince of Persia, perhaps? That'd certainly be ironic.
I'm so excited! I can not wait for the teaser trailer, which I'm sensing in coming by the end of this month.
Although, I'm still wondering, why is this thread still in the "Disney Discussion" section, now that we're getting down to discussing the actual film?

Poulter isn't exactly what I pictured in my head, but he looks like he'll be good for the part regardless.SmartAleck25 wrote:

And the other thing...

Listening to most often lately:
Taylor Swift ~ "Elizabeth Taylor"
Katy Perry ~ "bandaid"
Meghan Trainor ~ "Still Don't Care"
Welll, considering how inconsistent Disney was in packaging the first two, I'm not going to sweat some more incongruity on my shelf.Barbossa wrote:What bugs me the most about this franchise now, is like with the Terminator series, we'll never see a full Chronicles of Narnia DVD/Blu-Ray box set - unless Walden Media is able to put something together.
And in latest news, it turns out the Telmarine accents are gone.
I have mixed feelings about that. Barnes' accent in PC wasn't the greatest, but continuity should still be kept. On the other hand, we could always just say the Telmarines learned to speak like the Narnians in the three years Lucy and Edmund have been away. Maybe they could slip in a sly reference to this in the dialogue somewhere.
Now that we're finally getting some publicity materials and more news is trickling in, I think it's high time this thread got moved to the Movies, Music, and TV board.
A large display has now been released.
The final theatrical poster will no doubt be this same artwork with the composition shifted and perhaps some characters dropped. The color scheme is virtually identical to Prince Caspian's home video cover.
There were rumors that Susan and Peter would be coming back for cameos in the beginning of the film. That always made perfect sense to me since the first two films considerably beefed up the pre-Narnia scenes from their respective stories, and both characters ARE mentioned in the beginning of this film's novel.
It looks like Tilda's back for another cameo which I'm sure is for the Dark Island sequence (haunting Edmund's nightmares?). It's misleading to put her on the artwork with Susan and Peter since each character won't be in the film longer than five minutes, but marketing's marketing.
I wish they would change that awkward pose of Edmund's, though. Perhaps things will change by the time they release the final one-sheet. Overall, though, it's pretty good, if not as smooth and balanced as Disney's work for the other two film's posters.

Well, it's supposed to be like you're on the Dawn Treader itself, and these characters are what lies ahead for you. The Facebook link on that page has additional images that give you a better look at the stand's base.
And I don't think that's Tumnus; just a satyr that looks a lot like him. If it IS him, then I can only assume he appears in the Dark Island sequence, as well, perhaps his LWW imprisonment haunting Lucy's nightmares (or joins the White Witch as part of Edmund's).

Only, neither the WW nor Tumnus are in this installment.SmartAleck25 wrote:Wow. That's a pretty awesome display board. Lucy looks kinda weird to me, I can't really place it. You would think that they would have the Seven Lords, or the Dawn Treader on the side with the White Witch, the Minotaur, and Mr. Tumnus (if they are cameos).

Good riddance to Barnes' Inigo Montoya impression.Disneykid wrote:Welll, considering how inconsistent Disney was in packaging the first two, I'm not going to sweat some more incongruity on my shelf.Barbossa wrote:What bugs me the most about this franchise now, is like with the Terminator series, we'll never see a full Chronicles of Narnia DVD/Blu-Ray box set - unless Walden Media is able to put something together.

Apparently the teaser trailer's coming in two weeks. That means it'll almost surely debut in theaters with Toy Story 3. I can't wait to see it (and probably in 3-D, no less).

Wonderful news. I hope both the trailer and the movie are gonna be good, at least better than Prince Caspian (which I enjoyed somehow, but dissapointed in some ways).Disneykid wrote:Apparently the teaser trailer's coming in two weeks. And here's the trailer:
http://www.mundonarnia.com/portal/veja- ... orada.html
Looks alright but it's weird - has the same actors, same voices, but just doesn't feel that it ties to the other two. You can see right away the different style. Don't know if it's the music or the change in director. The Disney ones, I dunno, they just felt "grander" right from when I saw the trailers. This is the first trailer so we'll just have to wait and see. I was really looking forward to the whole series being done by Disney, but they messed that up.

OMG Susan!
that said, Lucy's actress, georgie Henley has definitely grown more than I thought she would.
note the apparent extended beginning from the book.
the scene with the painting is nicely done, though I imagined it differently-like they get thrust onto the border of the painting and swept to stormy sea. here, it's in the room.
The White Witch's appearance threw me. Never expected that again.
As for the lack of grandness, that was never really there in the book either.

It's not the "grandness" per se, but maybe how the camera was used and the lighting - right away you notice the difference from the first two. I think I'll still enjoy it, I'll just miss the Disney castle at the beginning.ajmrowland wrote:As for the lack of grandness, that was never really there in the book either.

I couldn't said it better myself, actually. It just doesn't have the magic flavour and feel, as the two former films (although "Prince Caspian" had some flaws). But I still hope this film is gonna be good..Barbossa wrote:And here's the trailer:

I feel that Georgie has grown, but she still has the child face. But she's still only fourteen, though.ajmrowland wrote:OMG Susan!

Otherwise, I agree with your statements.
