Did that get released to DVD? I remember watching that show a few times, but I could never understand the plotlines.
No it didn't but I wish it would. I always liked that show. In fact, I (like a lot of other people did in 1999, as I understand it) made sure to watch the very first episode the night it debuted on MTV and I, like every single other person who tuned in, was absolutely shocked at what I saw. Which is - every person who tuned in expected it to either suck (which, if you ask the right person, they'll tell you it didn't) or actually show full-nudity or nudity where you'd at least get those Transparent scramble-type boxes that would blur-out nipples and pubic hair (which would have been completely pointless). No one expected it to be a heart-felt, mature, interesting, well-written, and beautiful show.

For it's type (production costs and all that - I'm positive the cast was the most expensive thing because each episode had a huge cast), it really was sort of ahead of it's time. Anyone who, for instance, wasn't happy that Will & Grace would consummate a gay relationship (I hope you're paying attention, you know who you are) - just needed to check this show out. Over the course of every season, we got to see every kind of relationship and there were many gay-focused storylines. Which is of course one of the reasons I say it was ahead of it's time. It wasn't sleazy without caring about it's characters. And very few people were treated like complete stereotypes either.

I wish it would come out on DVD (it's one of the TV shows in my TVshowsonDVD.com list, so I'll know if anything comes out) but I guess this is one of those shows that there isn't much demand for.

It is probably a re-run but I caught a special on our Fox channel last night called American Idol Phenomenon. It was the history of the show from in conception to its first broadcast and the subsequent three years it has been on the air. I found it to be very interesting, and thought it was amazing when they showed the original auditions for Clay Aiken, Carrie Underwood, Kelly Clarkson, Ruben Studdard and Taylor Hicks. I knew that this was an American production of a British show called "Pop Idol", but I didn't know that there are other 'Idol" shows around the world. What an interesting show and I am glad that I got to see it.

Torchwood They Keep Killing Suzie

Another excellent episode after last weeks. I actually think the show has found its feet now. Like last week's, this was another character driven episode. Oddly, the character was dead! (Sort of).

At first when Suzie was ressurected, we felt sorry for her. Then we started to feel suspicious, and then we found out she'd planned it all and we hated her again. Yet... somehow, at the very end we felt sorry for her again. The fact the script focused on the 5 main characters plus Suzie was a distinct plus point. It was also a rather small scale story compared to some of the others, but was all the more enjoyable for it.

Once again the Torchwood team were sort of inept - managing to get locked in their own base by Suzie, but I liked how this was handled with the call to the police, who took great pleasure in teasing them.

A good story. Strong character moments. Some humour at Torchwood's expense and... gasp, perhaps a hint at a forthcoming arc (at least some forshadowing on an event) when Suzie reveals that something in the "dark" (ie the afterlife) is after Jack since he became immortal. It's almost as if the production team could read my mind!

Watched Crossroads on CMT with Little Big Town and Lindsey Buckingham. What a great program. This series brings together some Country and Rock and Roll's biggest stars in a live show. Some of the stars that have been on include Kenny Rogers/Lionel Ritchie, Keith Urban/John Fogerty, and Jon Bon Jovi/Sugarland. If you haven't seen this show you should check it out,

Grey's Anatomy: Don't Stand so close to me

It was a good episode, however nothing can beat the intensity and drama of last week's episode, plus this episode had too many hospital scenes and not enough character interaction. There were too many patients and surgeries, Meredith and Derek, George and Izzie, Alex and Addison, didn't even speak to eachother...once!
Plus, like I said last week's episode of Everyone finding out about Burke, so many friendships and relationships damaged or destroyed, the controversial patients...nothing could beat it, last week was the best episode of this season.

Tonight is Tuesday and that means that it was Standoff with Ron Livingston at 7 pm and then I have DVR'd American Idol Rewind 2006 and got to watch the contestants do the music of Queen. A lot of fun, because now I can look and see what others saw and what people got voted off.

Nothing but reruns the rest of the week until Friday night when "Justice" has another new show.

I'm assuming that TV show DVDs count? If so then I just watched the pilot episode of GET SMART from 1965. Time-Life just released the complete series in a very attractive box set. I'm going to really enjoy watching these episodes again in broadcast order completely free of annoying commercials!

Last night I watched The OC, and I was really bored. I won't be suprised if it gets axed as this show is just going downhill. I use to LOVE it (it was even #1 of my favorite shows) but now it's just pointless.

Last night I also watched a season premiere of Charmed, I think it was Season 6...or 7, I dunno, but they were all pretending to be dead as they wanted to retire. The acting was pathetic, their acting was worse than a Soap Opera, again I use to love thiis show and it's getting worse and worse.

I never watched Seinfeld in it's initial run and so I have been purchasing the DVDs and working my way through the series. We watched season 3 episodes 1 thru 5 last night.

Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer - Still love it.

Frosty the Snowman - Ditto. When I was three I named my blue parakeet Frosty.

Frosty Returns - I had no idea that this special existed until I bought the Frosty DVD three years ago. This is odd. I was in the target demographic during its original broadcast in 1992; how did I miss this? Oh well...I doubt I would've liked it then. Before tonight I'd only seen it once, and I still don't care for it. My Rugrats-saturated childhood has soured me on Mark Mothersbaugh soundtracks and I don't like the animation. The characters and backgrounds look like Peanuts with a bit of Sesame Street 'toon style thrown in. I miss the familliar Rankin-Bass look from the '60s.

..and what's with the inch-high Jonathan Winters?!?

Right now I'm watching NUMB3RS. This is the first time in a while where I've watched one of the Big Three networks for more than an hour at a time.

Jam and Jerusalem

Now I know what this "is" I'm enjoying it a lot more. In fact, this weeks episode was the best so far. It's not really a comedy – like "The Office" and "The Royale Family" there are no "jokes" and no punchlines. But the quirky characters and dialogue offer humour. I actually found this week's to be laugh out loud funny at several moments – I won't repeat them, because out of context they just aren't funny. The only thing I don't like about it is how they've put Joanna Lumley in piles of old-age make up, and waste her comedy talents having her play a character who is hardly given any screen time. It's nothing but stunt casting.

Oh and can anyone confirm, did Kate Bush write/sing the theme song? I wasn't paying attention, but I'm sure her name flashed past my wandering eyes during the closing credits.

8/10 Cats

Well, this was funny, but what was going on with David Guest? It really was car crash TV watching his contributions and he -quite rightly - got ribbed and picked on by everyone else, until at the end of the show he seemed to be sulking and refusing to even speak. I also enjoyed Jimmy's dirty laugh that escaped mid-way through one of Joan Rivers' jokes, which was one of the most bizarre things I've ever heard – you really have to have heard it. I'm sure he's making his own (mucky) jokes up!

Have I Got News For You?

I really think this guest presenter lark has gone on far too long, and the show needs a regular presenter. My vote would be for Kirsty Young who has good chemistry with Ian and Paul, but also has the authority to keep them in their place should it be needed. Rob Brydon was all-over the place last night and a very poor presenter. He was, at times, almost in Boris territory (but with an added air of arrogance which wasn't very nice to see – even if it was, as I suspect, part of his "screen persona"). I didn't enjoy this episode as much as I should have.

Yes I know what you mean, I really enjoyed last night's episode. Is it laugh a minute? No. But it's well written with a wonderful varitey of characters and it definitely falls more into the "dramedy" genre. It's a good show, but because it doesn't have people walking around in bug bloomers it'll probably get swept under the carpet and forgotten. As you've said it's very much that "real -life" comedy and I understand about it not being funny out of context, some things made me chuckle which we're just passing comments.

Yes I'm getting tired of the guests too and last nights episode was awful, in fact the majority of the series has been diarrhoea.
