Okay...this is my thoughts on the LM3 trailer.

We have all seen the trailer. One possibility is that all the different clips from all the different movies is all backstory having to do with the plot of LM3.

On the other hand, Disney could have just used that animation to give us a taste of what the movie is about (i.e. in LM3, there is a ship in a storm and something falls off).
This is the method Disney used for the teaser trailer for Cinderella 3, as seen on the Cinderella PE. Disney used movie and audio clips of the first film to advertise what was going to happen in the new movie.

I know I didn't do a great job explaining...if you have any questions, plase ask.
:pan: Love It.

My thoughts of this thread:

This is such a happy/disapointing news. I'm disapointed for the March release. I can't believe Disney took off 101 Dalmations and put Peter Pan as Platinum Edition. This is so unfair. Why, Disney, why?

I love both Peter Pan and 101 Dalmations, but the release dates are just upsets me. I blame the rumors. :P

On the other hand, the restoration of TLM is gorgeous! I'll tell my mother to buy it 2 weeks after my birthday (9/21 ). Cinderella 3 sounds too good to be true and perhaps better than Cinderella 2. I don't care for Robin Hood since I own the CG version and the restoration and transfer are the same. Peter Pan is definately a surprise news, with all of Tinkerbell hype and junk but the rest of the 101D fans are going to wait another year for it. And, the October release of The Jungle Book is perfect since it was released on the same month of 1967. TJB is my 3rd favorite DAC of all time :D .

I had to read over this a bunch of times before a realized you meant GC as in the Gold Collection and not CG as in Comupter Generated. I was so confused...

Wow! Check out how amazing the new restoration is in these two shots! I knew they could clean it up, but this looks amazing. I never really liked the Beach Scene, Ariel just didn't really look like herself.

(Thanks to lighthouse mike for this image)

For the record, I'm not sure if anyone has answered this, but why does everyone keep asking who's eyes those were in TLM3 trailer? I thought it was pretty obvious they were Ariel's, as you can also see some of her face.

And I agree that, looking at the trailer again, I get some chills.

Oh, and WOW! The difference between those shots is incredible!

OMG I LOVEEE how the movie looks! :o

Now, why couldn't Beauty and the Beast look like that?

HOWEVER, some scenes are a still bit washed out and a little to dark but over all an AWESOME transfer! :D

This DVD would have been more complete with Jodi Benson's music video and Pete Andre's video. But at lease I have these videos on my Read-along DVD. :D SO I guess I do feel a little more complete. :)

Now is the Robin Hood DVD going to have a better transfer then the GC edition or will it be the same? I think I will still buy it no matter what lol.
I just feel I was cheated with Dumbo... but that is another topic lol. :)

Is it just me, or in the restored screen cap, does Ariel and Eric look lighter skinned? It could just be my eyes (I'm partially color-blind), but I guess it just looks funky to me. Oh well, I'm still getting the DVD no matter what. I cannot wait until those grey clouds and fuzzy seagulls are gone forever on my TV (my VHS is HORRIBLE!). I'm so happy, I can hardly retain myself! :D

That screencap comparison solved a problem a lot of people had about TLM's aspect ratio. People were angry that the the new DVD is 1.85:1 when the old one was 1.66:1 and assumed the new DVD was cropping the top and bottom of the picture ala Beauty and the Beast. Look closely, though. The new DVD adds slightly more picture on the sides, meaning the old DVD was cropped.

lol, are they the same instructions from when I taught you how to make them  :P Ariel does look a bit like Melanie Griffith in the beach scene! But Ariel still looks under 21 (And Melanie definately doesn't :P ) I think the new restoration is Incredible (almost as good as LatT's)...it's a shame they couldn't remove Prince Eric's man-boob though :?

You mean his shoulder?

And I just wanted to note, that for what I believe is the first time, lighthousemike has united us in a way like never before. Even the news that Disney was going to start 2-D animation again didn't gather this much good feeling and number of members. This thread has expanded to 11 pages in just a few days, and not a single argument, insult, or flame. Everyone seems to agree that all the previews look cool, and is excited about something. Never have I felt more unity in UD. I love UD and its members. I love you guys!

Thanks lighthousemike for uniting us!

lighthousemike, thanks so much for all this!

I've got a little question though, looking from the screencaps it would seem that there is only one English track; the Disney Enhanced Home Theatre track.
Or are there two English tracks, one with the (older) original 5.1 mix, and one with the DEHT mix (as the backcover states)?

Thanks in advance,
Bart
