Good to hear, disneyboy20022! I actually called them, today, and the lady I spoke with said mine were shipped out on January 2nd. So, any day now.disneyboy20022 wrote: I also just recieved mine today... I still haven't got my posters. The check hasn't been cashed, and the toll-free # I was given by the lady I spoke with concerning the disc replacements, just rings busy.
I'll just be patient a bit longer. Hopefully, I'll have everything by next week.

I also recieved my posters in the mail today in a tube shipped Priority. The edges of my posters are a little bit damaged but that does not matter to me because I plan on putting these posters up on the wall or getting a frame for them.DisneyDVDFAN wrote:UPdate

I just got my posters, today. They came Priority, in a tube. Some of the edges were slightly "ruffled", but, nothing major. Plus, the Superman: The Movie poster has a slight crinkle in the middle. However, I work in a photolab, and have access to foam core, so, I am just going to mount each of them on foam core, and display them on my walls, that way.

Still haven't bought the big Superman set, but one of my best friends has it, and it's giving me the itch. Seems like people are happy with the replacement program, so I'm thinking I may go for it sooner rather than later. I've been dying to see Superman Returns again, and that's the main reason I don't want to wait. I don't want to buy just Superman Returns, because I know I want the big set eventually...
Does anyone know of any other DVDs that have had mess-ups that resulted in replacement programs? I'd like to be aware of them for the future. Did that first Tom and Jerry set result in a replacement program, and is it still available (the replacement program I mean, if there is one)?

The first issue of the Back to the Future trilogy had what the producers later called a big "framing fiasco" where a portion of scenes in the second and third film were misframed for the widescreen release (too much information at the top, cut off at the bottom). They set up a call-in number for the replacement program, though it took weeks upon weeks to get the discs in. In 2005, they simply re-issused the set with the corrected discs, for a smaller SRP ($27.99, can be found cheaper elsewhere). To know if it's corrected or not, the second disc should have a "V2" on the disc (in small print after the copyright information). As far as I know, the call-in number should still work, but it'd be easier for me to simply buy the new set, trade the discs, and return it or hawk it off to a sibling or cousin who doesn't care for framing.slave2moonlight wrote:Does anyone know of any other DVDs that have had mess-ups that resulted in replacement programs? For the Tom & Jerry volumes, the first had the wrong cartoons, I believe, and WB continually said there would be a number to call for replacements, but I don't know the update on that since I don't keep track of those releases (not that I don't care for them, it's just there's more DVDs I'd like to collect before moving on to the animation sets from WB).
The second disc for the Dinosaur CE won't play on specific players, and Disney has issued a list of which players it won't play on. So rather than offer a replacement disc (probably authored differently?), the consumers have to get a different DVD player.

Thanks for the info, Escapay.
Wow, I have that Dinosaurs set. I'm not sure if I've ever tried disc 2, ha. Probably have though. I know that I always get the subtitles on the film when it starts, so I have to switch them off. I've had that problem on other films before too.
I have been meaning to get that Back to the Future set forever, but never got around to it. So, if I buy it at Target, it will likely be the "fixed" version? At only 20 bucks, I should be picking it up in the near future (I hope, but I've been saying that for a while), along with the Jursassic Park set.
Yeah, I know what you mean about the WB sets. I want them, but have only gotten Batman the Animated series Season 1. I'm still playing catch up with Disney, since I still need DuckTales Volume 2, the Legacy Collection, am now in a rush to get Narnia 4-disc, and am behind on the direct to video stuff and even a couple of the theatrical animation releases. And I need MOST of the live-action stuff, of which I want all the classics at least.
I wonder if WB ever corrected the discs for that first Tom and Jerry set, since I haven't bought it anyway. I believe the issue was about censored versions of the cartoons, with redubbings and that sort of thing.
