OK - thanks for the info Luke. I guess I'd better not wait on the 3rd wave tins considering the talk that's been going on here and the prices I've been seeing on Ebay for the others.

I agree ... if you wait or hold out in hopes that DMC will stock these you'll probably miss out. on 2-3 of these titles in Wave 3.

I think this is Disney's master plan to make us all very poor very fast. I mean, we have the three live action movies in a week, Sleeping Beauty the week after that, Lion King and Frank and Ollie in October, Finding Nemo in November, the Treasures in December and Lilo, Alice and Poca in January.

Ohhhhh, my aching wallet!

I don't mind having Disney every cent I have since I know it always leads to some royal entertainment. Unless the movie is abysmally bad, which doesn't happen that often with the classic stuff.

Re: P and S - only time I EVER got a P and S was with The Rookie and that was a total accident and didn't realize it until it was too late. I never do P and S. Did see Savage Sam at Sam's Club, but took one look at the Formatted to Fit Your Screen note and I practically threw it back.

I want the Disney stuff, but am not willing to sacrifice the original quality of the image or presentation for that.

I don't see myself complaining to Disney over a mistake I made simply because I didn't look too close. But thanks for the tip. But it's also been almost a year since I bought the disk. May just replace it at some point anyway.

I frankly do not know what WS is not just a universal industry standard anyway. Why even bother with a P and S release?

Actually, it isn't. They released in both formats but the box art is totally identical and unless you look VERY close, you'd never know.

I don't really blame you for that. The cover makes no indication that it's Foolscreen or Widescreen. (And as a 2.35:1 movie that was nicely-composed, I can only imagine how awful the P & S must be.)

Point of order there, chief. Blank Cheque is widescreen on DVD. Blank Check is not. :P

Ahhhhh, so I see said the blind man to his deaf wife...

All kidding aside, yeah, we should complain loudly and often about this, but I think what is more effective than just a phone call to aggrivate them, let's swamp them with letters! Calls they can ignore, but a bizzard of paperwork? I think not.
