Mainly because I have more to compare it to. I've since watched shows like Buffy, Angel, Lost. All shows that have fantasy in them and at the same time manage to carry the show without being hokey, cheesy or filled with plotholes. Sadly that is not the case for Charmed (at least the later seasons). I caught the series finale out of curiosity and was surprised at how horrible it has become.

I'm not a hardcore fan, but I hear so many Prue Halliwell jokes because of my name that it's not even funny anymore. XP
"Did you know there's a character on Charmed with your name?"
"Did you know the Beatles had a song called Dear Prudence?"
"Did you know that in The Witch of Blackbird Pond, there's a little girl with your name?"
"Did you know - "
Noooo. I have lived with my name my entire life and never heard of these characters and songs. I'm being sarcastic. Anyway, no one ever remembers my favorite namesake. =P
I apologize for going off topic, but Prue Halliwell references are the first things that come to my mind while thinking of Charmed. It's a shame that Prue dies, though.

There was a time when I really loved Charmed!! That was before they killed off Prue and introduced Prue. I still watched it, but it wasn's as much fun as before and after Julian MacMahon was written off too I stopped watching, since the storylines became more and more ridiculous with the whole "Chris" and whatever thing. Just boring and stupid!
I did watch the series' finale though, and even that I didn't really like with its way too cheesy ending when they're all married and settled with 3 kids each.
Season 1-3 are great, though!! It was an amazing show during that time and still enjoy watching the first three seasons. I just pretend Season 4-8 don't exist.

Re: Charmed
Charmed is a great show, I missed 1 and 2 seasons but caught on in 3-7 seasons. I love the lil throwaway jokes bout Harry Potter and other wizardly characters, some of the demons would've been good recurring characters and had some good motives of killing off the Charmed ones. I'm hoping for X-mas I'll have season 1,2,3,4 (only have season 5) and 6,7,8 .

This thread hasn't been posted in for a while now, but I have something to add to it.
I recentley bought the first season of Charmed on DVD, and watched it within a weekend. I absolutely LOVED it, and have asked (and think I will receive) for the Limited Edition Deluxe Complete Series Set for Christmas. My favorite character is Prue, followed by Piper, and then Phoebe.
Is anyone else a fan?

I preferred the first three seasons (much like everyone else). The later seasons just got sillier and sillier, almost as if they knew their show had become a joke and that the only thing left to do was make fun of themselves. I think the last episode I actually saw was the black-and-white film noir one with Paige (I think) and whoever Kerr Smith played.

I love "Charmed"! Well, the first four seasons anyway. It started getting really dark and intense and I expected some great storylines in the fifth season and was sorely disappointed with the route they took - leprechauns, mermaids, ogres, nymphs, dragons and other crap that didn't with with the show's mythology at all. The sixth season was even worse when they tried to emulate "Harry Potter" with that Magical School nonsense. The seventh season was somewhat of a return to the shape. I have yet to see the eighth season, which I heard was really good.

It's neat reading my old comments.
Back on topic, apparently Charmed is coming back this year, in comic-form- http://www.brokenfrontier.com/headlines ... rmed-comic
I haven't watched the show in a long time now, and I got rid of my DVDs (mainly because they'd been ruined by water damage, but it was my own fault), but I'm trying to get back into it, and I may check out the comics when they come out.

Apparently the first issue goes on sale the 30th! I don't know if I'll pick it up immediately, but I will try and pick it up.
Here's the Charmed wikia page on the comics. I haven't looked at everything on there, it has a ton of stuff!- http://charmed.wikia.com/wiki/Charmed_Comics
No word whether Prue will be in it (I hope so!).

Today I was able to find issues #2 and #3; I'll have to looks for #0 and #1 online. The comics are very short so I can't really have an opinion yet, not to mention I haven't read the first issue but so far so good. I like that they're including characters from so deep within the series and even bringing back old powers and may be adding new ones for the Charmed ones. I liked that the stories were staying away from the cheese factor, but then I got to a situation involving Phoebe that was entirely too stupid on issue #3; but hey, Charmed is what it is in spite of its cheesiness. One thing I must complain about, though, is Phoebe's face looking incredibly different from Alyssa Milano, Henry (Paige's husband) also looks different, almost African American, but it's almost funny how Phoebe looks almost nothing like she did on the show, especially when Alyssa Milano herself is on the cover of the comic books.
