Good Dan05 at least you didn't like Shrek 2 more than Shrek 1. (I like Shrek 1 too, just not Shrek 2). But both Shreks were still better than Shark Tale! Tell me your thinking about Finding Nemo instead of Shark Tale. Even though I didn't like Finding Nemo, it was like The Incredibles compared to Shark Tale!

You think princesses and far away kingdom movies were ever the "hot" thing? I don't think so. But just look at how successful those movies were. And they had class!ichabod wrote:The very fact that it is the "hot thing" is precisely what justifies it!DisneyFan 2000 wrote:It still doesn't justify spoofs, even if it is the "hot" thing...

It may be hard to believe, but yes why do you think Disney made so many fairy tales? Because they worked! It may be hard to believe but like I said earlier audiences today have no taste! 50 years ago people went to see movies that had class! Movies without "are we there yet?" jokes, and droll Eddie Murphy/Robin Williams/Chris Rock etc., who can't keep their yaps shut for more than 2 minutes!DisneyFan 2000 wrote:You think princesses and far away kingdom movies were ever the "hot" thing? And Princesses and far away kingdoms are still the "hot thing" today! Why do you think the Disney princess line is so HUGE! 99.9% of little girls dream of the whole ball gown and tiara thing, even the abyssmal Barbie Princess movies shift bucketloads and why? Because little girls have, do and always will dream of being a princess.
This is where I think Disney is missing a trick! They obviously realise how profitable "Princess" stuff is, hence the dolls, the Princess party DVDs, the sequels so why do they not give us a traditional fairy tale? Maybe Rapunzel will be! Sans Bassett hounds of course!

Ichabod, thanks for the link. Note how the seller of the item thinks it's a Pixar film! With CL being released on the old release date of the Pixar films, I think audiences won't be able to tell the difference between Pixar and Disney. Wich is definitely in Chicken Little's favour.ichabod wrote:Well anyone who wants some Chicken Little merchandise check this out!

Im not sure what to think about it, and im not sure how its going to do...although alot of people will just think this is the next Nemo and Incredibles because Pixar/Disney release one every year, and they'll just think this is this years.....
I probably wont go to the cinema to see it as i doubt anyone will want to go with me to see it, but i will definatly buy it on dvd.

uh oh, need new glasses lol. I only read the title, where it does say Pixar however. "You are bidding on the following item:ichabod wrote:He actually says:PatrickvD wrote:Note how the seller of the item thinks it's a Pixar film!
This is a 10 inch tall vinyl figure/doll of CHICKEN LITTLE from the upcoming non-Pixar Disney computer animated film of the same name.
Disney Pixar * CHICKEN LITTLE * VINYL TOY/FIGURE NEW !! "
but you're right, in the description he states it's non-pixar.
I still have a feeling lots of people will mistake it for Pixar.
I don't think the solution for Disney is to return to the fairy tales to be great again. They have already done those things with not just commercial, but also artistic success. Nostaglia can be a good thing, but I think that is the way many companies sell effortless sequels. Placing a loved character in a fresh looking environment, while re-using jokes and stories. I think Disney need to stretch further and look at what is produced outside the animation business.
When re-visiting the classic Monty Python-movies, I feel think their take on intellient comedy is still fresh. But I don't ask for a "Life of Brian: The Animated Series". But feel free to go back and be inspired.
---
CL: I liked what I saw in the 2nd trailer. It looks good, and seem funny. I'll just have to see the whole thing

I have to admitt when I saw the first preview for Chicken Little I had Zero intreast in the film and was more angry than anything thinking ( this is wahts going to replace CGI animation", but now I'll admitt that after seeing another trailer for the movie it has caught my attention and I am ready to make a trap to the movies to see it. Maybe it becasue Chicken Little's voice seems different I remember in the first movie trailer how much his voice annoyed me, but you know thats just me .

And I totally prefer Zach Braff over Hayes. I just totally crack up when he does that voice and screams the sky is falling. But then I'm a Scrubs fan so I think Braff is cool anywayichabod wrote:You're lucky it's Zach Braff doing the voice now! Besides on the internet, have they shown they "new" trailer (or I should say the 2nd version) in theaters yet?
Yeah, my reaction to the 1st trailer was like everyone else's, I was like WTF?!
There's no way I'm gonna bother with this (even if it was Disney).
But, after looking at the 2nd trailer, I can safely say I will see this. I mean, you gotta give it a try, I think it looks really good. I mean, mixing the original story by throwing in aliens and it's "the-end-of-the-world" type of theme, what's not to like? I think it's fresh.

This is just my opinion, but how can you judge an entire movie just from a couple of minutes in a trailer? You have no idea what the final film will be like! And I don't know what you are basis is but I did not see anything in the trailer that has been done before!DisneyFan 2000 wrote:I think it's the same old recycled jokes you see every flick.
