Then why did he post (GUYS) when asking about women, and (LADYS) when asking about men?awallaceunc wrote:Again, I don't see any indication that Lion King believes everyone is heterosexual.
That's why I brought it to his attention.I doubt he/she was thinking about it at the time.
I didn't. I said the assumption that everyone is heterosexual, is homophobic and ignorant. Those aren't unkind words, they are what they are. We are all ignorant about some things. Trying to force everyone into categories is not very kind.To call Lion King ignorant and homophobic, though, does itself imply a bit of ignorance on your part, not to mention a lack of discretion and kindness.
Good, then let's leave out (GUYS) and (LADYS) in the subject heading. Not everyone has an agenda in mind when posting.

You really think that indicates that he doesn't know there are any homosexuals? Come on... let's not be absurd. And to answer your question, well wait, I already did...Chicky Mouse wrote:Then why did he post (GUYS) when asking about women, and (LADYS) when asking about men?awallaceunc wrote:Again, I don't see any indication that Lion King believes everyone is heterosexual.
Not to mention that it does apply to the majority and is a commonly used phrasing of things. If you don't think it should be common, that's fine, but like I said, this isn't the place for agendas.I doubt he/she was thinking about it at the time.
Well you said it in response to me saying that I don't think Lion King is trying to propogate homophobia, as if making the point that he/she is. But you meant what you meant and I won't try to tell you that you meant something else if you're sincere. So we're agreed- Lion King isn't necessarily homophobic or ignorant based on what he/she has posted, right?Chicky Mouse wrote:I didn't. And again, I take issue with "trying." I don't think any conscious effort was being made to force anyone into a category.

Back to the topic:

Angelina Jolie: those eyes, those LIPS!!! i would damn myself for a minute with her!

Since CLOSER, i can't take my eyes of Natalie Portman! (please forget your ridiculous make-up from Star Wars though)

Michael Douglas is damn lucky man, Catherine Zeta Jones is so beautiful, i LOVE her! She as Velma Kelly (Chicago) can make do everything, EVERYTHING!
(ps: i'm a guy and i would answer a similar thread on actors)

now that's who i forgot!
Jennifer Garner and Jennifer Aniston!
[p.s. Lion King is a girl. But don't you think using "GUYS" in her thread title got your attention! Even I'm a girl and I still clicked and answered.
I'm sure we can all move away from the "off topic-ness" and just answer the question of prettiest actress!

Yes, I think that would be best. I just don't want Lion King to feel a lot of heat when I know she probably didn't have any bad intentions. But yeah, let's move on if that's ok, Chicky Mouse?RJKD23 wrote: I'm sure we can all move away from the "off topic-ness" and just answer the question of prettiest actress!]

It indicates that he doesn't acknowledge their existance, whether intentional or not. Is there any reason why youawallaceunc wrote:You really think that indicates that he doesn't know there are any homosexuals?Chicky Mouse wrote: Then why did he post (GUYS) when asking about women, and (LADYS) when asking about men?
don't want him to include everyone?
That's how the majority suppress minorities. What's wrong with pointing out that not everyone is in the majority? Not to mention that it does apply to the majority and is a commonly used phrasing of things.
Maybe he didn't mean to, but the language he used in the subject, implied it by exclusion.Well you said it in response to me saying that I don't think Lion King is trying to propogate homophobia,
That's exactly when people need to be educated, when they do it without "trying". A little sinsitivity training shouldn't be opposed. And again, I take issue with "trying." I don't think any conscious effort was being made to force anyone into a category.

THANK YOUChicky Mouse wrote:there are millions of guys who appreciate male beauty and women who like women.

Chicky Mouse you kind of brought up an argument for no reason, Lion King (who is a girl by the way) didn't intend to make it seem that way. If you want to participate in the topic as either a homophobic or just to state who you think is pretty go ahead. Lion King didn't mean no harm, and the majority of people in this world aren't homophobic anyway so she just thought it that way. Sure there are some people who are homophobic but men usually like women, and women usually like men so it's basically common sence that she wrote that. No need to argue about it, just participate if you'd like

Hell, I voted in the hottest guy thread, so whatever.awallaceunc wrote:Again, I don't see any indication that Lion King believes everyone is heterosexual. All females are welcome to post in this thread, and guys in the other, regardless of sexual orientation, and I think everyone (including you) knows that.Chicky Mouse wrote: Assuming that everyone is heterosexual, is homophobic. And very ignorant.

Let's not get into an argument - unless you are wanting an early start for next year's "Most Controversial Topic" thread.

Anyways, for my money:
- Salma Hayek
- Kirsten Dunst (especially after some recent photos surfaced

- Fabio
- everyone on Maerj's list
Behind the Panels - Comic book news, reviews and podcast
The Reel Bits - All things film
Twitter - Follow me on Twitter
The Reel Bits - All things film

Such drama going on.
Anyway, I love Natalie Portman and think she's positively loverly. Maybe not in the blonde bombshell way as <insert blonde bombshell of choice here> but there's just something about her that makes her irresistable and beautiful. Plus, she went to Harvard. Now that's hot.

Wherever. Whatever. Have a nice day.
