Hey, I have a question. Would it actually be possible to see if you were invisible? How can light reflect off of an invisible eye? This has just been bothering me for awhile...
Whose "power" is most valuable in The Incredibles?

Wow, someone else is actually questioning that? I asked my dad about that when we were watching "Hollow Man" a few years ago!Sekaino Jasmine wrote:Violet, for sure!![]()

Well, unless the image can be picked up directly by the retina without the "lens" of the eyeball, I would say no, but even that doesn't sound like it would work. And even if it did, the image would appear upside-down to the mind!
Hmm. This is complicated. Wait, is "retina" even the correct term? My medical terminology is a little rusty, LOL.
Ok, I'll stop now before I give myself a headache!

I asked my dad, too, but all he said was, "Well, how would invisibility be possible at all?"Sunset Girl wrote:Wow, someone else is actually questioning that? I asked my dad about that when we were watching "Hollow Man" a few years ago!Sekaino Jasmine wrote:Violet, for sure!![]()

In fact, I also asked that right after I watched "Hollow Man"!

Fantasy! That's why we have movies.Sekaino Jasmine wrote:I asked my dad, too, but all he said was, "Well, how would invisibility be possible at all?"

You know, I didn't even think it would have occured to me except that they explained the Hollow Man character couldn't stand the light because his eyelids were invisible and could not shield his eyes, right before they handed him some sunglasses.
So I got to thinking, well, his irises can't dilate or contract, so that's another reason his eyes are sensitive. . . wait a minute. . . his eyeballs are invisible, too! How the heck does he even see?!!!
My dad laughed at the question and said something like, "Well, if they followed that "rule," there wouldn't be a movie."
It's still interesting to ponder, though, LOL!

jack jack
uh....Jack-Jack can fly, go through walls, has laser vision, can teleport, and is a shapechanger and a tranfigurator....he basically takes the cake when it comes to powers.
Elastigirl comes as a close second, her powers is limited only by her imagination.
Violet, or as I like to call her, Invisigirl would be third, anytime you can put a shield around yourself makes you almost indestructable plus her invisibilty makes her a great fighter

Jack Jack's powers would obviously prove the most useful (and powerful). But, that's kind of like choosing to be an all-powerful character in a video game; there's alot less challenge in it. And the Jack Jack Attack short made it quite clear transformation isn't his only power. He can phase through solid matter, shoot eye beams, and defy gravity.
He may even be capable of teleportation (or else how did he get from the floor to behind the flowers on the table so quickly, or from there to the fridge?).
In any case, I'd probably like to have Violet's powers. The force fields give her a fairly high degree of invulnerability, and the invisibility would be great for stealth. However without super-strength, super speed, flight or being able to stretch from one building to another, she wouldn't be able to get around a city as quickly or independantly as any of her family.
She's somewhat like Jack Jack in that her powers are more molecular and energy-based, compared to the other three family members, whose powers are primariliy physical in nature.
