One way they can improve the Platinum over the Special Edition is to take the Fool's Screen, I mean Full Screen, version of the film off of the disc and allow all the extra room for the Original Aspect Ratio edition of the film.

Really, I have seen what was lost from Sleeping Beauty and I think it was calculated at something like 3%. I am not sure that would lead to me rebuying.

Yes, but half of the disc space is wasted on having the full screen version on it. The movie would be less compressed if it didn't.

I don't think it's going to enhance things all that much honestly. The movie looks amazing as is, and I've been unable to point out anything wrong with the compression. There are no compression artifacts and no edge enhancement to speak of. So I don't really see the need for another version of it

I must concur with Jayden. It's not like Sleeping Beauty's transfer left much to be desired and on movies that wide, I think it's inevitable that Disney will offer fullscreen as well. At least, widescreen is also first and foremost when it comes to animation. I imagine that even if <i>Lady and the Tramp</i> didn't have its history of being filmed in two formats, it would be offered in both formats on DVD.
