Hopefully the dvd will be uncut.
The early information from Disney lists 165 minutes.

I think the book Heidi is very charming, but when they made the movie, they stretched it out to long. If they would have just made a 90 minnute feature I would have enjoyed it. I also enjoyed Patricia Neal's role in the film, in my eyes she is one of the greatest actoresses ever. I mean she has been acting since the 40's.

I met Patricia Neal twice. She was a very sweet lady, very nice. She had a lot of cool 'old Hollywood' stories to tell, you would have loved that Guru. The only actor she worked with that she had anything negative to say about was George Peppard. Apparantly he wasn't so nice when she first met him, but later hew was okay. I guess he had some personal problems going on at that time. Also, her first husband was the guy who wrote Charlie and the Chocalate Factory.

I never really enjoyed Patricia Neal-I only saw her in this, The Homecoming, and on Little House on the Prairie. I don't remember her role in Heidi, but in her others she was just...funny.

Are the covers for SUMMER MAGIC and THAT DARN CAT *final*? Because Hayley Mills' name is MISSPELLED on both of them. I can't believe they would do something like that.

Is there any way to get word to Disney about this?

Appalled,
Linda

Welcome to the forums - and keen eye you got there!

This mistake, plus the actual releases themselves, have already been discussed in this thread, so I merged the two together.

I hope they are all in Widescreen. In Search of the Castaways was FF on Laserdisc! I hope we see the widescreen print on this run!

That's one thing I wish they would release. The later Saved by the Bell ones are out, why not the Miss Bliss years(or year, I don't think she was on there over a year)?

I can't wait to get That Darn Cat on DVD. I've never seen Summer Magic, but if it's got Haley Mills in it, it's got to be good!

There was just one short season of "Good Morning, Miss Bliss." The show was renamed "Saved By The Bell: The Junior High Years" for syndication, but it was originally aired on The Disney Channel as a sitcom project for Mills. Only after it was renamed, retooled, partially recast, and turned into a more surreal youth-oriented comedy, did it become "Saved By The Bell", NBC's hit Saturday morning series.

The thinking seems to be that Disney may own the rights to that first season, since one assumes Lions Gate or Image Entertainment would have already released it otherwise.

When are Disney finally going to release the three made-for-TV "Parent Trap" sequels that Hayley starred in?!?

"In Search of the Castaways" has been on R2 for some time now. Perhaps late-2005 for the other two films?

I'd like to buy these films with finnish subtitles. Great that there were finnish subtitles in the original Parent Trap UK version. Hope that there will be in these titles too!

Well, perhaps we are going to get the un-cut version after all! The Disney website is listing it at 191 min. Here: http://disneyvideos.disney.go.com/movie ... 80703.html
Unfortunately, not everything that is on Disney's website is necesarily true, but I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Great news! Nice find, Poppins! Let's hope they're right about this and wrong about <i>That Darn Cat</i> and <i>In Search of the Castaways</i>' aspect ratios.

Yes, I hope it' s not the case that "That Darn Cat" and "In Search of the Castaways" are full frame transfers. I have the early 1990's Laserdisc editions of both those movies and if all they are doing is porting over those transfers to DVD then it will be a sad day, because neither of my laserdiscs appears to be open-matte. There is (in my opinion) evidence of side-cropping.
And Luke, thanks for the review of "Bullwhip Griffin." I've already pre-ordered my copy!
