No. Elton John's company (Rocket Pictures I think) was to co-produce Gnomeo and Juliet, which seems to have died a death at the moment.

Valiant -commercial on TV 3 months before release!
About 2 minutes on TV I just saw an ad for the upcoming (Disney distributed in the US, but not everywhere else) animated film 'Valiant'. It said coming March 25th!
That's 3 months (give or take a cople of days) away from it's release date!

They didn't they are just distributing it in the US, kind of like in the US Disney distributed 'Flight of the Navigator' or 'The Brave Little Toaster', even though they are not distributed by Disney anywhere else in the world.*Andy* wrote:I didnt know disney made it!!!

Valiant - to be released in August!
Animated-News.com has posted a link to the poster for the US release of the new Disney CGI movie Valiant. Apparently, it is opening in US theatres on August 19, 2005. Is this news to anyone else? What's it about? And why are we, in the US, just now getting the poster? I feel that because the release is so soon we should have at least some more info on this movie.
Here's the link to the poster:

Also I tried to go to the movie website that is given at the bottom of the poster but it just took me to the Walt Disney Picture Home Page.

Thanks for posting the poster! Nice to have confirmation that this will be a Walt Disney Picture and that the August 19th date is firm date. This is pretty much the first piece of information from Disney on the film in years. Looking forward to seeing it. It's been playing for a few weeks in the UK already, under non-Disney distribution.
"Fifteen years from now, when people are talking about 3-D, they will talk about the business before 'Monsters vs. Aliens' and the business after 'Monsters vs. Aliens.' It's the line in the sand." - Greg Foster, IMAX chairman and president
Released 2 weeks ago in France not under the Disney brand, and the movie is very lame, if you're under 5 years old, you'll enjoy it a little, if not, you'll be bored. ROBOTS is far better!
(PS: for some guys here: the fact that it will be released under Disney names in USA will not make the film better

Intreasting I must say I am extremley intrigued not just becasue it is now under the Disney tittle, but because there really hasnt been any news about the movie you know no movie trailers or teasers even in movie theaters. I guess this might be what Disney puts up to compete with Disney's Maddagesscer (well however you spell it
I cant spell worth my life) all well I am happy

Even more confusion for the average US audience! I see them standing at the ticket office already:
Kid: Hey mom, let's go see that new Disney movie!
Mom: No son, it's a Dreamworks movie as it's made by the producers of Shrek & Shrek 2.
Kid: But no mom, it says right there... "Walt Disney Pictures Presents"!
Mom: Huh? And I was thinking that that bird movie was only being released in november?
Kid: No mom, this is that one. It's the first CGI movie from Disney.
Mom: Then why does it say "Vanguard Films"? And wasn't the first CGI movie from Disney something with Dinosaurs?
Kid: I'm confused.
Mom: Me too, let's go see some other movie.
