A guy died, guys. Whether we liked him or not, he's dead and there will be severe ramifications caused by his death. We don't have to mourn him, we don't have to pity him, we certainly don't have to spit on his grave. Just realize how his family must feel. They lost someone they loved.

America and the rest of the world, can't really back off, because it is America and the rest of the world who sanctioned the creation of Isreal. It is up to "us" to see a peaceful resolution.
I totally agree, I can completely see why both sides are ticked. And while it's up to us to fix it, we've been messing around with it for 80 years without much success so it may be time to back off.
As for Araphat dying, it's pretty scary. He may have killed people but at least he attempted to play the diplomacy game. It's far better to deal with somebody like that, rather than somebody who doesn't talk to the other side and just acts.

Arafat may not have been the nicest of people, guys, but he was quite a powerful man. Now that he's gone, there's going to be trouble ahead for that whole area of the Middle East, since Arafat had not named a successor, or had nary a plan for his people for when he'd be gone. There's just going to be more trouble now than when he was alive. So this really isn't a "good riddance" issue at all...

For those who are irked about CSI being interrupted to report on the death of Arafat, DON'T WORRY. CBS is apologizing and they are going to replay the show in its entirety.
CSI must be more important than many of us think. In addition to the apology and reshowing mentioned above, today I read that they are firing the producer who interrupted the show. Sheesh!
