See its my opinion that if there is going to be added cahracter and stuff like that to the movie its sort of destined to flop.Adding another Prince it just reminds me of the Little Mermaid 2 : Return to sea for some reason.toonaspie wrote:I dont think they'll make Dopey talk. He's such a popular icon that theyll know better than that but to give him such a huge role just hurts his character. I'm sure there's a bunch of stuff in there too (like another prince or something)Wow that sucks..... Sounds like total crap to me. I think Snow White is the one story that maybe should not be tampered with. I mean if the plot is like you say it is that mean Dopey would have to tlak and I mean that kind of ruins his character unless on this quest Rose is just going to taslk to herself.

I heard that too, but I forget where. The place I read it at said that it was greenlighted but the news was from a looooooooong time ago. Anyhow, it is following the sequel formula of giving them kids and repeating the first movie. It's just scary thinking of the science of making children and Disney characters.toonaspie wrote:I hear the plot for Snow White 2 is about Snow White's daughter Rose and Dopey going on a quest to save the other six who were captured by some villain.

Those weren't really "real" sequels (though they weren't officially advertised as sequels, many DS cast members and other retailers called them sequels). They were more like introductions to their television series, which also seem like a sequel themselves. With a tv show, I'm having trouble finding what the real sequel will be about.MisterMalificent wrote:I personally loved the sequals for Alladin and Lion king, but the others were big stinker, and Tarzan already had a sequel ( Tarzan and Jane) and so did Lilo and stitch (Stitch the movie)
I found the following in imdb forums. I'm still waiting on the guy to tell me where he got his info from:
It's followed by a long "down with Eisner" quote.Actually there WILL be a sequel: "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs II: The Sequel," Original name, huh? Anyhoo, it's about: Snow White, the prince, Dopey, and their thirteen year old daughter, Rose teaming up to rescue the other six dwarfs from the clutches of the queen's sister, Narciss. Reused plot from: "The Little Mermaid II: Return to the Sea," and "Happilly Ever After!" It's coming out either in 2007, to celebrate "Snow White's Seventieth Anniversary," or in 2010, to celebrate the re-re-release of Snow White to VHS, and the re-release of Snow White DVD.

Disney's Snow White - are they really planning a sequel ?
I have posted about this before, but does anyone know if the Disney Studio is genuinely planning to film a sequel to the Fairest One Of All??
Personally I think it would be a bad mistake, and I'm sure that Walt Disney must be spinning in his grave at the thought!!
I would, however, love to see the Soup Sequence "The Music In Your Soup" sequence finished as a short but not added into the movie, I know it would cost Disney a lot to reanimate it but they would make lots of dollars out of it I'm sure!!

Why not? I have no problem with sequels, they mean more movies to collect!

Well said. I can sort of see why they did a Fantasia sequel, but for a true cinema landmark and classic such as this, no. If the world tolerated a sequel to Snow White, I'm sure they'd also tolerate the world becoming a George Orwell type nightmare.lord-of-sith wrote:I believe they aren't (or shouldn't) make a sequel just out of respect for Walt.

A sequel to Snow White would be an absolute travesty. Snow White really isn't that great a movie, it's very slow and spends too much time on cartoony antics, such as the Dwarves washing their hands...
Plus one could say that the film denegrates women. But it was the very first animated movie. It's an important part of history, and it does have redeeming qualities. It's really a great achievement and I would hate to see them disrespect it with a lame (am I allowed to say crappy here?) sequel. Not to mention it's been, what, 70 years since it was made? Must they really go so far just to rake in some cash?

And unless another copyright extension bill is passed (which I'll admit is likely. To digress, when will be see a Patent extention bill passed), it's due to become Public Domain in 20 years or so. Nothing to panic about, but a sequel would keep the characters and likenesses copyright and trademarked to Disney.Teen Artist wrote:A sequel to Snow White would be an absolute travesty. Well, of course you're entitled to your opinion, however, in the opinion of this forum reader/poster, Snow White, far from being,"not that great a movie" is one of the finest films ever to be made in Hollywood!!
The trouble is, that older films are judged against modern films, and, of course, technology/social mores has/have moved on/altered. The great thing about SW is that it was the first technicolor sound full length animated feature, and when we saw the animated turning pages of a story book at the beginning of the movie, this was the FIRST time and it wasn't the cliche, so brilliantly (if alittle crudely !!)caricatured at the start of Shrek 2!!
The characters were well established from the outset, the cruelty of the Wicked Queen etc, the character of each of dwarf and so forth.
I have loved this movie from the first time I ever saw it and my high opinion of the movie has not diminished one iota!!
We do however agree that a sequel to Snow White would be a great mistake, and of of course Walt Disney himself would be spinning in his grave!!
