Well, it seems there's a slight misunderstanding on what I personally think of all this. I'm not encouraging people to skip the Fantasia Anthology or the Sleeping Beauty: SE simply because Disney said Platinums of them are coming (both sets are excellent and I won't be upgrading if they do go Platinum). I just think that people are being a bit overly cynical about this (or perhaps I'm being a bit overly optimistic). The idea of Disney meaning that those four title have been added to the "list" for a future re-incarnation of the Platinums makes a lot of sense. Either way, I'm positive we'll be seeing 2-discs of Pinocchio and Peter Pan, and I still think it's likely we'll see re-releases oif Fantasia and Sleeping Beauty, just not any time soon.

As for the Masterpiece Editions, I think that line has already died. Pocahontas and Lilo and Stitch were supposed to be ME's, but I have a sneaking suspicion just like Netty that they'll be SE's instead. At first I figured that if that's the case, then only the non-Platinum Walt-era films were ME's, except (besides the anthologies), there's only three non-Platinum Walt films (if you at least consider the idea of Pinocchio, Fantasia, Peter Pan, and Sleeping Beauty going Platinum). I highly doubt Disney would create a whole new line for basically three films, unless we go back to the theory of the four films being 2-disc sets that aren't Platinum. If that's the case, then perhaps we'll be seeing ME's of these films (or at least Pinocchio and Peter Pan) in the future, which would make sense. Still, it's fairly obvious that we all put more thought into these series than Disney does.
