Man oh man am I excited about these, especially the Donald and On the Front Lines releases. I would be willing to bet that OTFLs becomes one of the all-time best sellers in the history of this line. Not in terms of numbers (since they all have 125,000 production runs) but in terms of how quickly they disappear.

I'm sure it will only take 2 more to complete.2099net wrote:On a side note it's disappointing the Donald set has so little content. The way things are going there will be 3 or 4 Donald sets to fit them all in. The Donald set should have contained as much content as the Goofy set.

I'm guessing the 2 remaining Humphrey The Bear Shorts - Hooked Bear & In The Bag; along with the 3 remaining Chip N Dale solo shorts - Chicken In The Rough, Two Chip and A Miss & The Lone Chipmunks; will also somehow be implicated as extras. They better!
I'd also expect to see the short, 1965 promotional film, for "Steel and America".
I'm also assuming that we will see all of these shorts released in December with the Frontlines Treasury:
01 - The New Spirit
02 - Donald Gets Drafted

Are you just listing the Donald cartoons here? Because Pluto's Christmas Tree is not a Donald cartoon-he makes a brief appearance with Minnie and Goofy at the end, but that's all.

Defy Gravity...
There... edited and corrected.
Now if only Disney could fit 40 shorts onto each set with a few extras, it looks like 2 more will be all we need... On the flipside, that means that I have to wait 2 whole years to see my favorite Chip N Dale cartoons!
Until the remaining Donald, Pluto, Silly Symphonies and the Educational/Specials Treasures are confirmed for release, I wont rest easy...

I'm not sure where you got that list from! I'm not saying that it's wrong but according to THE BIG CARTOON DATABASE
http://www.bcdb.com/pages/Walt_Disney_S ... index.html
There are 127 Donald Cartoons. Some of these are the educational shorts which may or may not be included (I understand they still have a Donald title-card and a special educational set is only rumour at this point. One of the Goofy educational shorts appeared on his set).
However considering how many Donald cartoons there are, it is a shame Disney would choose to release the sets with only 2/3 of the content they could have, just to fit an extra set in or not. Don't forget when the sets are only coming out once per year we're talking about 3 or 4 years until all the Donald shorts are included.
I don't think the other Humphrey The Bear shorts will be included as they are not Donald title cards. If the complete Goofy taught us anything it was only title cards are counted.
The Humphrey The Bear shorts are more likely to appear in a set containing Disney special shorts - along with Ferdinand The Bull, (the original!) Chicken Little and Lambert The Sheepish Lion etc.

Most of my Blu-ray collection some of my UK discs aren't on their database
As for The Fox Hunt, I would hope to see it included but I believe that would officially be categorized as a Silly Symphony short.
The Looney Tunes 4-Disc Set THE GOLDEN COLLECTION will be released October 28, 2003 -- it will have the best special features I have ever seen on a DVD. http://www.cartoonresearch.com/

If the set already includes 32 shorts, then that's as much content as on the other sets in this year's collection.
Remeber that mostly of the propaganda and educational shorts from this time (except the normal cartoons like DOnald, Pluto and Goofy) was very short - only two minutes or a little more.
So there is place for the feature VICTORY THROUGH AIR POWER as well as 32 shorts.
I all depends on who's face was on the title card Chernabog. Do you happen to know?Chernabog wrote:As for The Fox Hunt, I would hope to see it included but I believe that would officially be categorized as a Silly Symphony short.I´m sure you mixed it with the Silly Symphony cartoon with the same name from 1931. There was a remake in 1938 with Donald, Goofy and the rest, where they all went for an English Foxhunt.

As for the 127 shorts 2099Net...
36 are already featured, Ive listed a possible set of 80 = 116.
There are another 9 which I am assuming (no basis really) will be included on the Frontlines set... 116 + 9 = 125.
I'm sure The Litterbug could be included as a "regular short" as well bringing the number up to 126. Though it would be more liekly to appear in an Educational Treasury, as it is essentially an educational short.
I'm not sure what number 127 would be though?
This is just me wasting time btw... I really have no idea in what context or format anything will be released let alone the content, just assumptions conceived out of boredom..
It was definitely a Donald title card.2099net wrote:I all depends on who's face was on the title card Chernabog. Good point about the length of the wartime propaganda shorts Chernabog. However I'm just pointing out it's strange Disney should promote how many shorts are included, and no mention a 'feature' as well, which one would assume would be the pride of the collection.Chernabog wrote:If the set already includes 32 shorts, then that's as much content as on the other sets in this year's collection.![]()

We can only wait for more information.

DONALD´S DECISION will propably be included on the WARTIME collection, since it about Donald buying war bonds or not!
Also HOME DEFENSE will propably be there since it´s about defence from air attacks
I´m also sure they will include CHICKEN LITTLE on that set, since it´s about not spreading rumours (Disney made it because this was very actual stuff in 1943, when it was released)
Officially listed (THE DISNEY ARCHIVES) there is 128 Donald cartoons and THE FOX HUNT from 1938 is one of them - the archieve doesn´t count the commercial and educational films in this list.
Also I don´t think that the Humphrey the Bear cartoons will be on a Donald disc set, since they are counted as Specials.

Yes, I is fanstastic news. Hopefully we will get the educational stuff in the future - so I can satisfy my weird obsession with those Triangle of Health stuff.Dacp wrote:I want the Educational Set to be released now...but this is good news.
Once again, I'm REALLY looking forward to the On the Front Lines set, but there is something you can always dig in a Donald short, so that set will be great regardless.
I'm assuming the Mickey set will be kinda cool too, and we've spoken at great length on this board as to what will be in it (everything apaprently....
Haven't got the set, but I imagine Tomorrowland will be much like the Disneyland one?
VERY excited, and will have to contain said excitement as this will be my last post for about a week or so. Heading off down the coast for a much needed holiday today with my beloved. Glad to have caught this news before I went though!
So don't make any more huge announcements without me!!!
