I just loved Lilo and Stitch 2. But what I want to know is why didn't anyone(including the Disney website) mention that Stich the movie is going into the vault? Good thing I got my copy way before it happened. But my point is are they going to do this to us without letting us know they are pulling them off the shelves and putting them into the vault? I thought Disney announces it on their official site? Am I wrong?

Okay this seems to be the right place to ask this question: HOW THE HECK DID THIS GET A PG RATING? It could've easily gotten a G! There is nothing that bad in this movie that it deserves a PG!

As for the movie, I liked it, but didn't love it. It's actually rather overrated IMO. I mean many consider this the best Disney movie of the 21st century, however I loved Emperor's New Groove, Treasure Planet, Fantasia 2000, Brother Bear and even the newly released Chicken Little MUCH more!

I guess the problem I had was that it tried TOO hard to be funny at some cases, and it ended up being lame.

But overall the animation is beautiful, Stitch and Pleakly are cool charactes, and the story is somewhat touching.

I just don't see why it gets the hype it gets.

Maybe because Pleakley was a cross dresser, there were big explosions, Nani came off as totally irresponsible at times, Lilo is such a depressing little kid, and Stitch isn't exactly a great role model. Also, we've got Lilo biting people, Lilo drooling on people, Nani wrapping Lilo in a blanket, Nani threatening to bake Lilo in a pie, etc. And Lilo said the word "butt".

Nah, that was just a bad tongue-in-cheek response by me. But who knows, maybe some of them are reasons it was PG.

And what Stitch said early in the movie is apparently something obscene in alien language, so that may have been it too! Also, you've got very curvy animated characters, and Jumba and Pleakley are essentially bounty hunters! AND Lilo listens to Elvis, who was known for his gyrating pelvis!

Mulan was too! It got a G! Finding Nemo had explosions! It got a G! It was irresponsible for Gepetto to let Pinocchio go to school by himself! It got a G! Eeyore is always depressed! Yet the Pooh films get G's! Ariel wasn't a good role model! The Little Mermaid got a G! Plus other films that got G's are films with flying mokeys, animals farting, teenagers in pants that don't fit them, beasts threatening to break down the door and Maleficent said "hell"!

So there! :P

i think they got a pg rating because it was to real sure it had aliens and lazer guns and such but it had real family problems that alot of people just wouldnt like to see it makes them see what is a kind of taboo i mean who wants to see a little girl, who lost her parents, to be separated from her sister!

ps what does it mean that disney is putting Stitch in the vault?!?

Don't forget the 2 disc SE is coming down the line (with the US being the last to get it, but all accounts). I guess the 1 disc is being made oop in preperation for the 2 disc release.
Most of my Blu-ray collection some of my UK discs aren't on their database

We don't have any confirmation of what will be on the 2-Disc set yet. We're not even sure it will be a 2-Disc set! But that's what we're hoping for.

I'd say the R2 and R4 Special Edition 2-Discs are a fairly good indication of what will be on there.

The second disc contains a feature length (120 minute) making of docu, which is just brilliant.

A 2-disc of the original movie, Lilo and Stitch. Stitch! The Movie, Lilo and Stitch 2: Stitch Has A Glitch, and the forthcoming Leroy and Stitch are all gonna remain single-discers.

It's not a CD, it's a DVD. The release has been pushed back continuously in R1 since 2003. It was expected to be part of the Masterpiece Editions with Alice in Wonderland, Mulan, Pocahontas, and Mary Poppins. Since then, Alice and Wonderland was the only one to be Masterpiece Edition in January 2004, Mulan was a regular Special Edition in October 2004, Mary Poppins a 40th Anniversary Edition in December 2004, and Pocahontas a 10th Anniversary Edition in May 2005. Lilo and Stitch was expected to accompany Lilo and Stitch 2 in August 2005, but there was never a press release, and now it's expected to come in April 2006 with Leroy and Stitch, if we're lucky.

120 minutes is long, but it covers a lot of ground on the making of the film and I imagine is worth watching (I don't have the R2 or R4 editions, so I haven't seen it yet).

Um...does that mean that the UD messageboard is too slow for you? Or that there's never news about Lilo and Stitch?

Where is it mentioned that Lilo & Stitch the movie is OOP? I checked the OOP list on this website and it is not listed there.... I see that DVD everywhere I go but maybe it is one of the sequels.... I have not seen the movie yet so I was not paying too much attention to it at the stores. Now that you guys have posted this thread, I'll have to make a note to rent it and see what I think.

MickeyMousePal wrote:Well, I think that Lilo & Stitch was good but not excellent because it's kind of bad for kids to watch. Both Lilo & Stitch are brats and this is bad for little kids to watch I really think it should be PG- 13 not just PG. Why did Disney just start to make PG films I really didn't under stand that point beside to get teenagers to see the films.
Other then that Lilo and Stitch was great it really help Disney go back up a little since it had box office misses.
I'm really excited about Lilo & Stitch: Masterpiece Edition. :D
well, Lilo and Stich should be rated G. It is rated PG for mild sci-fi action(look on back of box). There is no way a lot of Disney animated films, even those from the 90s would get less than a PG nowdays. Some possibly PG-13. The Day after Tomrrow was rated PG-13 for intense peril(or some crap like that) and Bambi is way more intense. Alice in Wonderland would get a R for drug use. HOND would get a PG-13 for the hellfire sequence. Dumbo would get a R for a child using alcohol. Pinnochio an R for children using tobacco. Any Disney film with a death will probably be PG at least for either violence and/or thematic elements.

Blame Disney, not the site. Disney just hasn't released any new information about L&S lately. When they say something, this site will get the news.
