What Are You Reading?

The last books I read were Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (second time), Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (fifth time), Artemis Fowl (first time), Through the Looking-Glass (first time), and The Death and Life of Superman (first time). Now I'm working through The Magician's Nephew (second time).

I'm going on vacation in a couple of weeks and it's going to be 13 hours in the car each way so I'm going to be doing alot of reading then. I've already picked up Eragon, Artemis Fowl: The Arctic Incident, and Artemis Fowl: The Eternity Code just for the trip. It'll be my first time for reading each of those. And then I'll also be bringing Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire and maybe Harry Potter and the Sorceror's Stone. It'll be my fifth time to read each of those.

Has anyone here read any of the "Series of Misfortunate Events" books? I think they look quite interesting, and with the movie coming out soon, I think it'd be a good time to start reading them. I'm just wondering if they're worth it. I believe it's $10.99 for each book in the series and none of them are too large. (I don't like getting books from the library, just buying them) So anyways any help on that would be appreciated.

Well I finished The Magician's Nephew a couple days ago, and Pretend You Don't See Her yesterday. Now I'm about halfway through the Return of the Jedi novelization. I'm loving the insight into Vader's head. It's my favorite part of the book so far (as opposed to watching the movie instead).

I just finished the first book in the Pendragon series and am currently reading the first Artemis Fowl. I know they're making an Artemis film, but who thinks that Pendragon would be a wonderful Disney/Walden Media collaberation(sp)?

I saw Pendragon at the bookstore a couple weeks back and it looked really interesting, but I'd never heard of it before so I didn't get it. Would you recommend it to someone who loves Harry Potter/Artemis Fowl/Chronicles of Narnia?

I started reading that series a while ago, it's much better than I would have expected, actually...I like the way Snicket writes, how he's always coming in and telling you to put the book down and stuff. I enjoy it partly because the villian is always winning That's always fun!
You should definatly look into it!

2 Days ago I got a book i had bought off Amazon.com that I read in one day and it is the best book I have ever read in my life.

It was Doris Day My Story By: A.E. HOTCHNER

I loved that book so much it discussed Miss Day's Life and I learned things I never knew before I suggest this book to everybody.

Oh yeah - forgot to mention in my previous post. The <b>Spider-Man movie novelization</b> by Peter David is due for a reread before the second movie hits. I love the book -- it gives us what the movie does but so much more that's just not possible in a 2.5-hour movie. After the second movie is out and I've seen it I'll be reading the <b>Spider-Man 2 movie novelization</b> also by Peter David (which is already out, but I'm not even buying yet because I don't want movie spoilers.)

HEAVENS TO BETSY! It's a book too! Who wrote it? Is it like the movie? Where did you find it? I've never seen it before! I definitely have to find a copy! 10th Kingdom is my favorite TV movie!

I forgot to say before that I am currently reading: More Mouse Tales: A Closer Peek Backstage at Disneyland. It is a wonderful sequel to the first one and a great behind the scenes book about the history of Disneyland from the points of view of the most important people: the cast members. I found the first one surprisingly at the school library and my brother ordered both online. There are so many funny comments about experiences and guest stories, but also serious chapters about lawsuits, accidents, and deaths . I particularly remember a story about the first man to die ( !) while standing in line at Disneyland.

Well, I finished Return of the Jedi this morning and started rereading Artemis Fowl. I don't typically reread a book so soon after I'd read it for the first time but I suppose this is just a sign as to how much I like the book. After this I may reread The Hobbit. Not sure though.

Starion, are you reading them for a Lit class or for personal enjoyment. I've read all those except The Divine Comedy, in my AP lit and Honors English class and really enjoyed them. You should also read Paradise Lost by Milton, it is SO good. But you've probably already read it. Oh and A Midsummer Nights Dream.

It took me over two years to find a copy of this rare, out-of-print book. Not many were made, but it is a great book! It is based off of the original script for The 10th Kingdom, so it is a little different from the TV mini-series.

I own it and have read it. It's pretty good (and, as you might expect, very long). It is a bit different than the movie, which makes it an enjoyable read, I think. I hope you find a copy!

Well, I've just started reading Who's Looking Out for You? by Bill O'Reilly.

I must just say, after reading his chapter on family and how to raise children, it does leave a nasty taste in my mouth, being as I know he's been divorced three times, doesn't actually have any children of his own, and has more than enough money to ensure he wouldn't have to sacrifice anything to give his children the best even if he did have any.

There's nothing more annoying than a lecture from a man who either doesn't practice what he preaches or hasn't experienced what he's talking about in the first place.

And he's not even began to discuss politics yet... not really.

Well, I've just started reading Who's Looking Out for You? by Bill O'Reilly.

Don't even get me started on that guy. I wanna put him through a wall. Politics is politics but the way he tries to sell himeself {or whore himself} is unreal. I don't care that he's incredibly right wing republican so much as he sells himself as an "independent". I've never seen someone so cocksure about things who has so little fact and so bias a presentation of it. Though it's always funny when he actually brings a guest with cajones on the program. They almost always out argue him and then billy boy sits there and pouts and makes remarks like a defeated nine year old.

But always remember "He's looking out for you......and your money".


As for the books I'm reading "Lord of the Rings" and Ronald Reagan's autobiography. I didn't agree with his policies but he was just always president that captured my interest.
