Upcoming Walt Disney Treasures tins
I voted for Mickey Mouse Club...but in the spirit of honesty, I imagine I would fork it over for any of those except "Zorro."
What I would like to see them do at some point is a sort of "career retrospective" of characters like Donald and Mickey. Show us their progression over the decades...Donald's could include a smackerel of short cartoons, wartime stuff, new Donald animation done for the TV show in the 50's and 60's, a couple of Donald's educational films, an episode of "Ducktales" that features him, and his Noah's Ark Sequence from Fantasia 2000. That would be something. Don't get me wrong, I love the original short cartoons, but they have already had quite a fair bit of exposure...years and years of "DD Presents" on the Disney Channel, plenty of VHS release. I look to the Treasures series for rarities, which is why I'm quite excited about the potential of the "Wartime Cartoons" and some of the others.

No, Whispers is a complete waste of time, save the Donald cartoon. Actually, I think it had The Big Wash, a Goofy cartoon as well. The movie itself was live-action nature footage, which I generally like, but the characters talk. The story is episodic and rambling, and the film is hardly watchable. I rank it with Ten Who Dared!Maerj wrote:Well, that sounds like that was the stuff that was cut out. I read that they censored the cartoon at some point but I guess that one is uncut, cool! I didn't see Whispers: An Elephant's Tale was it good? Worth buying?feedmelinguini wrote: Wasn't Clown of the Jungle uncensored on Whispers: An Elephant's Tale? I saw guns, attempted suicide, etc. If it was censored, what was left out?

Yes, that was one fo the ones I saw on the net too. It was absolutely shocking!Joe Carioca wrote:Loomis wrote:I've seen some of these films (thanks to the internet!), and some of them are really shocking (just wach "Education for Death" and you'll see what I mean). I just hope they are released uncensored!
I think I've seen the 'Feuhrer's Face' as well, which was pretty bad. It is just such a strange point in Disney history, it HAS to be documented.
Yes, I hope they are uncensored, otherwise there really is no point in boxing them that way. I'll buy that set regardless.
If you only buy one tin this year...

Mind you, Donald, Mickey et al in sets would rock too (given that I've missed out thus far in purchasing them, still holding on to the hope they will be released here...).
I hope we get an official announcement soon.

"Reason and Emotion" and "Education for death" are my favorites of these, but Der Fuhrers face is quite funny as I see it - poor Donald

"Victory through air power" is also very stunning in it´s propaganda, but it´s rather boring as a feature, as well as the book that it´s based upon - but I hope it will be on the disc if this compilation is one of the three that will be released.
My videocopy of "Victory through air power" is not very sharp in picture and sound quality and I need to update my collection with this feature on DVD if possible, since the last scene in the film is a little lacking in color on my videocassette.

me too, Im waiting outside the store early in the morning until it opens and buying them all! theyre my most anticipated releases this year along with the rocky and bullwinkle & looney tunes sets. i really hope disney continues with these. i wont rest easy until i hear confirmation that pluto, ss2 and mmbw2 are on the way. i also cant wait to see a rundown of the donald duck treasury - it better have all the chip n dales, including their solo shorts as bonuses and the same with humphrey the bear. if they leave out a single chip n dale or humphrey short, ill kill someone! i also want confirmation of the educational treasury and one with all the specials. everything else seems pretty secured. i cant wait for the next batch though!

Oh, and just to stay on topic,
, as long as the 3 are DD MILC2, and WTC I will be happy, though it sucks for the collectors, like you guys who collect more than just the cartoons
. Well it looks like the only release of 4 was 2001, it looks like from here on in, they are only releasing them in sets of three. Although this is probably smart business wise as the cartoons seem to be the ones selling, but we will probably be seeing more TV shows as the years go on...

For me, the holiday bombardment of DVDs begins August 26 with two TV releases:Prince Phillip wrote:Hem hem, I think you mean starting Sept 9th!indianajdp wrote:There are so many great releases coming, starting on 11/04, that I've already told everyone that this Holiday season it's all about ME. plus Absent-Minded Professor, the intriguing 3 new Special Editions, then there's Sleeping Beauty, The Lion King, Finding Nemo, The Santa Clause 2, at least a dozen other releases I'm forgetting right now, not to mention possible DVD season sets of NewsRadio, Freaks and Geeks, and maybe even my beloved Home Improvement by the end of the year. I've got box set fever!

I am looking forward to Saved By The Bell, and The Family Guy vol.2. Even though I am a fan of the Simpsons, I am holding out, because you can catch a million repeats. But someday maybe, if I have a surplus of money

(Say non of you have the problem of too much? I would be more than happy to help
