A Dream Is a Wish Your Heart Makes
So This Is Love
Cinderella
Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo
O, Sing Sweet Nightingale
The Work Song

I love this movie’s songs. Even The Work Song. I don’t think O, Sing Sweet Nightingale is as good as the similar-sounding other songs sung by Cinderella, but animation-wise, that sequence is surely the highlight. And although it’s brief and simple, I think the title song sets the mood and tone perfectly.

Of course, if we were including options from the 2015 film, Lavender’s Blue would top the list.

Wow, too bad the song in the finished film didn't at least have the middle parts with Ilene/Cinderella.

Listening to most often lately:
Taylor Swift ~ ~ "The Fate of Ophelia"
Taylor Swift ~ "Eldest Daughter"
Taylor Swift ~ "CANCELLED!"

Thanks for sharing that recording! I really like it. The melody of the parts that are different from the film version are also in the score of the movie. I wonder what came first, this song version or the score.

It's curious that the Burl Ives version of that song from So Dear to My Heart was nominated for an Oscar even though it wasn't an original creation for the movie. I guess the Academy rules weren't so strict back then.

Oooh thanks Sotiris that was awesome! I love Ilene Woods as Cinderella.

If Lavender's Blue had been an original song in Cinderella, yes that would be my favorite.

Does anyone know what all the lyrics were to that Cinderella self-sung version of the Work Song were? I couldn't make all of them out.

It's true, some parts were quite difficult to understand. I've found the first two verses here and also another recording of the same version of the song where the sound is clearer, but I'm still not sure I've gotten everything right. I've put in red the words I'm less sure of. Maybe someone else can suggest something for these words and check if the rest is correct.

Cinderella, Cinderella, Cinderella, Cinderella
Cinderella!
Oh, dear

Cinderella, Cinderella, all I hear is Cinderella
From the moment that I get up
Till shades of night are falling
There isn't any let up
I hear them calling, calling
Go up and do the attic and go down and do the cellar
You can do them both together, Cinderella

Cinderella, Cinderella, night and day is Cinderella
I'm as busy as a spider who's working for its dinner
The rooms are getting wider, my hopes are getting thinner
I'm always in a flurry, they will tell me not to worry
Take your time and hurry, hurry, Cinderella

How lovely it would be
If I could live my fantasy
But in the middle of my dreaming
They're screaming at me

Cinderella, Cinderella, all I hear is Cinderella
Take a mop and mop the ocean
And give the stars a dusting
The fringe is on the hinges
And heaven needs adjusting
I go around in circles and I don't know what my aim is
All I know is that my name is Cinderella

You seem to have a case
A problem very hard to face
Each time I'm starting with my dreaming
They're screaming at me

Cinderella, Cinderella, Cinderella, Cinderella
Cinderella, Cinderella
Oh, rella-rella-rella
Oh, Cirderella-rella
Oh, rella Cinderella
Oh, Cirderella-rella, Cirderella-rella-rella
Cinderella, Cinderella, Cinderella

Cinderella!
All right, I'm coming

Thank you! I wish I knew if that was all the rights words, but you're probably right about all of them. For some reason here on my phone the video is unavailable to me. Maybe I could check it at home later.

The video doesn't work for me either. It says "this video is not available". I've found a Cinderella medley by the same artist but it only includes half of the song. The full song is available for purchase on Amazon, if anyone's interested.

I guess the video I posted is not available in all countries, because it does work for me. I suppose this other one doesn't work for you either, does it? Anyway, the song is not complete on these links either. It's the same medley you found, only with a slightly better audio quality. And I think the one on Amazon is the same recording too, because it has the same length.

You're right. I hadn't noticed that. Here's hoping we discover a full version of the song in better quality and preferably sung by Illene Woods.

That would be great. Yes, I much prefer Illene Woods' version too.

I just found out that Ilene Woods had recorded a rendition of Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo.

^Thanks for posting! Like in the medley sung by Gracie Fields, here the song has a bridge that isn't in the movie version.
