Charlize Theron would work, but I doubt Disney will use her. I'd prefer her to have dark hair so I'd love someone like Eva Green or Janet Montgomery who plays the main witch in Salem. I think she has the perfect look for Queen Grimhilde, but she's not that well known sadly.

I totally agree Eva Green would make a perfect Queen, and Ella Purnell would also be a good idea. You should be a casting agent ! :)
Lolz thanks but I wouldn't give myself to much credit. I think Miss Peregrine (the movie) was fresh in my mind at the time hence why I named Eva and Ella. Eva does well with magical witch roles anyway considering she was also in The Golden Compass playing a witch.

Eva also was a witch in Dark Shadows. A movie I actually like, even though a lot of people don't.

I LOVE Dark Shadows, I actually think it's up there with Corpse Bride, Sleepy Hollow, and ofcourse TNBC in Tim Burton (Directed/Produced) Movies. Goes to show you how you should always take reviews with a grain of salt.

I'm actually hoping Tim Burton would direct this, but I guess it would depend on how the Dumbo remake is gonna perform at the box office. Also since this is a Grimm Fairy Tale, I really hope they keep the dark element, and not turn the Queen into a Quasi-fairy Godmother (A-la Jolie), so yeah Tim Burton, I'm counting on you !

Yay, we both love Dark Shadows! I don't like Corpse Bride that much but hey maybe it's actually a really good movie and in my opinion just not so much. I wish they were never making Dumbo. I kind of wish they never made Maleficent. But a Tim Burton Snow White? Hell yes!!! Since it will be a remake they will probably go the Cinderella Lady Tremaine route and not the Maleficent Maleficent route.

I know they're probably not gonna do it, but I kind of wish they would just remake the actual Sleeping Beauty fairytale or Alice in Wonderland, I honestly don't like when the movie changes the source material to that extent. Disney, make it stop.

Same. I'd love to see a live-action version of the David Hall version of Alice in Wonderland that Disney was planning on making in the 40s before WWII. The storyboards are out of this world and while it may not have been suited well for animation the way the 1951 film was, I think it could be epic in live-action.

Some songs from the original will be included in the remake! I hope my favorites "Someday My Prince Will Come" and "One Song" will make the cut.

Other than The Little Mermaid this is the only one I really care about. Oh, how could they not have "Someday My Prince Will Come"?! I also hope "One Song" is in it but with some new music to extend it or a whole new song that establishes more relationship between Snow and Princey. I hope the Evil Queen gets a song. I would also like her name to be revealed, especially as Grimhilde. I feel like this film has to be done the most respectfully. It's based on Disney's first feature!

I wonder if the decision now to have songs from the original appear has something to do with Beauty and the Beast-2017's enormous success, considering your original post talked about new songs.

Anyway, I'd love if they do something similar to On the Record's take of "One Song/I'm Wishing," with the Queen and Snow White as the two voices. Perhaps the Queen singing to the mirror and Snow White singing to the well? Of course, they'd have to add more depth to the Queen for it to work--like the lost plot of the Queen attempting to seduce the Prince that Walt decided not to go through with because they were having trouble animating the Prince?

Most likely. That's the most logical reason.

You guys really think decision was because of what Beauty and the Beast did? I would think not because they were going to do music in this film in the first place, just new songs. The Queen will definitely have more depth added to her. The question is what. Maybe the prince idea Disney's Divinity talked about.

I don't remember when this film was first confirmed, but I remember that it was called a musical from the very beginning. And sounds like they'll use the most iconic songs but not all of them, paired with new songs. So I don't think BATB influenced this film much so far.

This film was confirmed in October 2016, so it was going to be a musical regardless of Beauty and the Beast's success. This makes me sort of wish Cinderella had been a musical. It would've been interesting to see what new songs they would've written for it, or which of the deleted songs they would've put in.

I didn't say anything about the film just now being turned into a musical.

Yeah but why would they think another film using it's original music would bring about the same reaction just because another remake they made used it's original music?

I, too, wish Cinderella had been a musical, but honestly I would rather all new songs that are better than the original's.

For Cinderella, I'd love to see a Disney Broadway Musical of it with the film's songs plus all the deleted ones. It would flesh out Cinderella's character, plus the prince's. They could take elements from the live-action film as well if needed, but I'd prefer it to follow the original animated film.

I would love for that to happen. I've come up with melodies and a very small amount of lyrics for new Cinderella songs I would love to use for a Disney musical that was basically the original animated film's story, fleshed out, with new songs and "Cinderella", "Dream is a Wish", "Nightingale" and "Bibbidi", but I may just make my own musical and maybe Disney could do your idea.
