Re: Fantasia's Night on Bald Mountain Live-Action Movie

Post by Candy-Bonita95 »

What makes me worried about a live action remake of is that the original is actually too relevant to be remade. It's a very clear cut message. Evil has it's season, but is powerless in the light of Good. Regardless of the specific religious imagery, viewers all over the world get the memo.

Another reason why I am skeptical about this is that last time Disney did a live-action movie about a villain, it was...sloppy *obvious cough* Maleficent *cough*. I will only watch this live action adaption if it has heavy metal. Although I would lol if Selena Gomez sang a promo pop song for this movie because no metal band wanted to create the promo music.

What I can't help but wonder is how they're going to expand on an eleven minute segment (if you count Ave Maria) and turn it int a nearly two hour film. They might go a different route with the story, goin off the original plot of the song (a witch's sabbath to summon Satan himself).

They did that with THE SORCERER´S APPRENTICE.

cant wait until they run out of A and B list animated films to turn into live action and they hit the C-list. I want Oliver and Co. with Justin Timberlake as Dodger, John Lequizamo as Tito and Sharlto Copley as Fagin! 8) :milkbuds:

Edit: Lady Gaga as Georgette, Rhianna as Rita

That was technically an entirely different story on its own with a scene that happened to be a shoutout to the original Fantasia segment.

Which I imagine this one also will be.

How much of a Live Action remake can it be? They're adapting what is effectively a short, and the scariest part of any of their feature films. At the very least, it's bolder than a Princess movie.

I was going to say the same thing. I just read that this might be the same style as Maleficent. NO NO NO NO NO. You ruined a great Disney villain. Don't ruin the most evil one of all time! NO

Aside from wanting to advertise their new products, I find little evidence to suggest this is the sentiment behind the live action remakes.
At the end of Maleficent: They literally said: "The ANIMATED one, that Walt Disney himself created, isn't the true story. THIS is reeeeaaaalllllyyyyy what happened. I should know, I'm Aurora!"

Cinderella: By telling from interviews, "Oh, this Cinderella is strong. She doesn't fall in love with the Prince after a good second. She encourages the Prince to change the world. She's brave and strong and does stuff, not waiting for something to happen." When in actuality, Cinderella from the original was more strong IMO.

First, it was movies based on theme park attractions. And now, it's live action remakes of their animated movies.

What's next?

Disney sure pick the strangest choices for live action movies: This one, yet another(!) Cruella movie, a Tinkerbell movie... Argh, how generic and boring! Out of all of their announced upcoming live action remakes, only Mulan (and the next Alice in Wonderland movie) makes me excited.

Why can't they adapt more beloved and interesting stories instead - like Snow White, Pinocchio, Mermaid, Aladdin, Hunchback and Hercules? And why this need to make a new twist all the time? They can't make movies about Sleeping Beauty or Peter Pan, so they make them about Maleficent and Tinkerbell instead?
Favorite Disney-movies: Snow White, Cinderella, Alice in Wonderland, Sleeping Beauty, The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, Pocahontas, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Hercules, Mulan, Tarzan, Tangled, Frozen, Pirates, Enchanted, Prince of Persia, Tron, Oz The Great and Powerful

They're doing Pinnochio, which is the only one with Mulan & B&TB that I'm looking forward to

Well maybe all the crazy religious parents will come out of the woodwork and complain that Disney will make a movie for the devil and if we're lucky and they complain enough the movie might get cancelled. :-D :thumb: :headshake: :frog:  :earsguy: :brick:

Figures considering there hasn't been a single update since 2015.
Q: When will the live-action Night on Bald Mountain start production?

DisInsider: This movie isn't happening...

Q: Is Disney still working on a Chernabog film?

Skyler Shuler: No.

Skyler Shuler: I keep getting questions about the live-action Night On Bald Mountain movie. It's not happening.

Q: I heard it might just be a Chernabog movie in the style of Maleficent (like the backstory of a villain). Thoughts?

Skyler Shuler: Won’t know for sure since it’s not happening.

I hope Disney is starting to really second guess all these live-action remakes they claimed to have in the works.

Awwww, of all the ones they had to cancel... :(

I would rather see a Chernabog film over a Tinkerbell/Cruella De Vil-centric movie.
