Looks like there'll be a whole line of dolls. I have to admit I really do like Elena's design, although that's probably because I like Jasmine and Esmeralda so much.

I liked the dolls. I take back what I initially wrote about Elena's design. She looks too generic.

I like her design so far even if she does look a bit like Jasmine. I do like her red dress with the ruffles. Is it me or does the doll seem taller than the regular Hasbro Princess doll line?

The series will air in August this year.

Disney’s newest princess is Elena of Avalor. Elena is Disney’s first Latin-American princess and her story is a magical tale that combines adventure, music, and mystical animals. Elena of Avalor will launch in August with her own animated series airing on Disney Junior and Disney Channel in the U.S. and rolling out internationally in spring of 2017.

The princesses aren't trapped in Sofia's amulet. The said they just come to her when she uses the amulet to call them. Ariel splashed in the waves at the end of the episode where she made her cameo, she didn't disappear into the amulet.

I really hope this will put an end to making more princesses! I'm so sick of Disney churning out princess after princess.

as always the drawn art is so much nicer than the cgi. I love her dresses though, nice to see a princess with bold primary colors as opposed to pastels.

Well, it should be. Sofia is animated in Korea whereas Elena will be animated in Canada and France.

Craig Gerber: Luckily (for us), Arc teamed up w/ superheroes @ICON_CGI for lighting & in some shows, animation. So it'll be Icon & TeamTO now.
