The Sword in the Stone: Fundamentally flawed (skimpy production budget, Wart's magical changing voice, generally aimless plot), yet there's still a lot of charm and some truly positive, educational messages as well.

The Princess Diaries: Yes, it's cheesy, kitschy and oh so girly, but it's perfect for a pleasant, wholesome way to pass an hour or two.

Home on the Range: Okay, so hardly a classic (and I really mean that), but I wouldn't necessarily slap the label of "Worst Disney Movie" on it.

There are probably a few others as well, but I simply can't think of them at the moment.

I'm a fan of "The Lion King 1 and a half". I've always enjoyed it, because it's a fun and entertaining movie and quite hilarious at times. Of course it's not on the same league on "The Lion King", but its still quite good.

RocketMan. I always loved when Fred screams exactly like a woman when he's given the opportunity to fly to Mars and when he's entertaining himself during solitary confinement.

Definitely Peter Pan: Return to Neverland. It's really bad. Sometimes I think I prefer it to the original and it makes me really sad. The only thing I don't like about it is how they killed off tick-tock croc (did the name Mr. Grin ever happen outside of the Ridley Pearson novels?) and replaced him with a ticking octopus. I kinda like the octopus too, but nobody can beat tick tock croc.

The Three Caballeros is one of my favorites, but I didn't know that was considered a guilty pleasure. I always thought that one was actually well liked. I mean it has a ride (albeit a terrible one, compared to its predecessor).

The Emperors New School (it's a Disney Channel series, does that count?). Another example of me liking a sequel/spin-off better than the original. I used to watch it all the time when it was on DC. They made Kuzco less obnoxious and more likable, to a point where he was still conceited, but the veiwer didn't hate him. And his "love-interest" Melina was really likable too. Ugh and the dynamic between Kronk and Yzma was so good. God that show was great, and I don't even feel bad saying I liked it more than The Emperors New Groove.

My guilty pleasure does not involve the films, it involves music.

Found this recently:

<object width="420" height="315"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/RQ_2RUWZn9o?ve ... ram><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/RQ_2RUWZn9o?ve ... n_US&rel=0" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="420" height="315" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object>

An awful song promo for an awesome series. :D Hadn't heard it in 20 years and I still knew every word. It's god-awful but I'm blinded by nostalgia.

Or how about some early 90's Disney rap music? :p

Of course, let's not forget the 80's . . .

Ok, I'm done now. When I was younger I was really into the old Disney albums and I can't help but occasionally return to them. Back when I was working with children, you can imagine I had a blast burning CD's for everyone to play and dance around to. :D

Oh, yep! Another one for me there! :p

And Sunny Wing, did you have the whole Splashdance album at all? I seem to remember a really dreary song attached to a Mickey read-along set entitled "Donald's Pooch Parlor" that went "Splash, splash, splash, everybody get weeeeet!"...was that from that same Splashdance album per chance?

Ask and ye shall receive . . .

<object width="420" height="315"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/XLER0tUADrs?ve ... ram><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/XLER0tUADrs?ve ... n_US&rel=0" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="420" height="315" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object>

I never actually owned the album, but my best friend growing up had the (gasp!) record and I was rather jealous. I actually saw a reissue of the album along with several other retro Disney titles packaged together back in 1996 at a Costco. I sort of regretted not picking it up, but I didn't have a CD player quite yet.

Gah, I feel old. Interesting how they turned the Flashdance craze into something innocent and kid friendly. Of course Disney wasn't the only one to do that, there was also the Peanuts Flash Beagle special . . . gotta love Desiree Goyette. :p

There were a few other albums I liked when I was older, like Songs From the Sea and Rhythm of the Pridelands. It was a cool time for original Disney albums.

Another guilty pleasure of mine is "Austin & Ally". Yes, the show is extremely cheesy and juvenile. But it's still fun to watch and I enjoy it because of the characters (especially Dez).

I'm so glad that there are people who likes Cars 2. While it's not unflawed (too much Mater, a rushed plot), its still much better than people have given it credit for.

While Cars 2 has no good reason for existing and has almost nothing to do with the original film, it is still splendid entertainment for most of it's running time. It is dragged down, however, by a poor third act which featured excessive and unnecessary drama (the dialogue between McQueen and Mater during the third race is awful) and has a rather lousy message in the end. Still unfairly maligned, though, and an improvement over Cars.

Sorry I don't feel guilty about the pleasure I get from Mickey Mouse Disco (1979) and the New Mickey Mouse Club (1977).

I'm not sure if this counts either, but I really really love American Dragon: Jake Long. Another one of my top Disney Channel shows. I think I liked it as much as Kim Possible, maybe a little more. The relationship between jake and rose was too much. And the last episode of the series omfg.

I'm not sure how many people love American Dragon, but I don't hear about it nearly as much as i hear about kim possible, and they were both similar shows that were on at the same time.

I LOVE American Dragon myself. I have an extreme affection for dragons in general, so it's not so surprising that I got into the show, but the characters and interaction, especially the relationship between Jake and Rose, got me to stick around. It also helps that I'm a big fan of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Joss Whedon in general, which the show took a lot of influence from.

I also greatly prefer the second season to the first. Yes, yes, the animation change was jarring at first, but I grew used to it, and the writing became so much better as it went along. The obnoxious use of gangsta slang that dragged Jake and Trixie down got downplayed significantly and the show had a stronger balance of action and comedy around this point.
