Thanks for the quick response, singerguy!!!
I guess I just need to read this site's reviews, huh? I don't have a high-def TV and I definitely don't have a Blu-ray player yet, but with the combo packs, it makes it more worthwhile, I suppose. I would probably have to sell some DVDs in order to buy the Blu-rays. And I know that you'll never have all of the bonus material, since each release may have different bonus features.
Part of me thinks that maybe just keeping my DVDs makes sense, but like I said, with the combo packs, that's a good value (and when I have kids, they'll have the DVD copies so they don't scratch the Blu-ray, I guess). Life was so much easier before Blu-ray came along!
Is it hard for you all to justify to yourselves, "Hey, I already have bought this movie X number of times, but what's one more?"
I'm really strapped for cash, living on financial aid for school, but with only four in the Vault right now, I would buy B&tB and
Bambi in the next week or so because they're heading in the Vault soon...? I don't know what to do.
*edit*
So, I'm reading the Blu-ray reviews here on UD (except for the few without a Blu review), and every release is going to leave off and add bonus features. For me, Blu-rays of newer films (
Chicken Little onward), the Blu-ray bonus features are probably worthwhile. But, because of having to keep multiple releases of the same film, that just gets expensive.
*edit again*
And what about colors? I know that no matter what kind of release B&tB will get, people will complain, but apparently there are clouds missing in TLK? I mean, the Platinum Edition had the redrawn gators...
Things will always change in every Disney release. Maybe I should just hold onto my old DVDs and forget Blu-ray? But then I'm missing out for newer releases. Oh bother.
